awesome, i'm so stoked you're loving it a much as i love mine, it's great when 2 people get something like this and are able to bounce of each other

so was it worth the money then?

Edit: and now the bad stuff.. lol or not. one thing about japanese guitars can be the switches apparently, they start to sound crap pretty quickly, however I've had my strat a year now, played the ass off of it and am having no problems.

Simon

Simon,

I got hit with a $105 duty from customs upon delivery on top of the $120 shipping it cost so I was less than thrilled about that. But all things considered, for $1300 this guitar is worth every penny. I was concerned about wear in case I wanted to turn it (if it just didnt jive with the big neck or something) but that is not a concern now! Its a keeper.

I think for what these guitars cost they are an absolute STEAL. I may try to find the green one in the not too distant future and add that as a back-up :)

I seriously think its a better built guitar than both of my US Fenders and approaches Suhr type quality. Stunning.

Your MySpace page says your band is in New Jersey. If you received it in the US, this would be the first time I've heard of someone having to pay duty fees for importing a guitar here into the States.

Yeah customs duty sucks and handling charges suck, i just paid 50 dollars on a 200 dollar pedal today to bring it into the uk, but as you say 1300 is good money for that guitar. Bear in mind since this is now discontinued and there's not many of them i think it may become a future collectible. i've already seen them change hands on ebay second hand for a similar price to new.

then again, you ain't parting with yours and neither am i with mine. I was thinking about the green one too, the colours a grower and the perloid tuner buttons are sexy

am glad you've discovered japanese build quality :) i think about the only u.s. fender i would buy now would be a vintage hotrod for the nitro finish.

I didn't pay any duties when I ordered the Edwards, fucking thing made it here in 4 days and playing it on the 5th. is there something about you guys in Jersey

I honestly dont know what the hell it actually was for and neither did my USPS guy who brought it to my porch. Im just assuming based on the value declared on the box that customs instructed the USPS to collect duty on it.

I DO know that he was not going to let me have it unless I gave him a check for $105 paid to the Postmaster and I was not willing to let him leave with it.

It'll be interesting when I get my guitar from Japan next week to see if I have to pay them, too. Yours was shipped via EMS and went through the JFK hub, correct? Was it listed as a "gift?" Was it listed at the full value, minus shipping?

Yep, EMS through JFK. Id have to go look at the box but Im pretty it was not a gift and it had declared value of 100,000 yen.

What do you have coming? :D

A fairly unpopular guitar around here: Caparison Horus.

Thanks for the info, BTW. I really want to get one of those Kotzen telecasters in the near future.
