I have say for me that EVH signature gear whether Peavey and Fender the amps definitely delivers the goods and not just a cheesy endorsement.

ESP Alexi (Japanese Market) are frigging insanely awesome.

I really dislike the whole signature model thing.... It makes me avoid the gear completely. When using the gear I certainly do not sound like the endorser ?

As far as the EVH stuff goes, I don't think it's intended to make you sound like VH. Those tones are in there if you want them but there's a lot more there. I also didn't think there was a lot of "hype" around any of his stuff. Just because the 5150 series appeals to a lot of different players doesn't mean it's hyped. It just means it sounds good. So I would say it's more anticipation than hype.

lynchbox and lynchbox cabs or speakers he designs even if he uses none of it.

AC/DC Monopoly. Definitely as good or better than the standard model.

Gibson Custom Shop Zakk Wylde Les Paul. Plays great, sounds amazing for anything from clean to kill.
