I love my Yngwie Strat and my Jason Becker Carvin! And I'm soon to have the SS-Friedman! So sig gear don't bother me I'm not trying to be those players but I happen to like the specs on both guitars and for the money can't beat em prob get a Jeff Beck Strat at some point

I thought the Vai Jem I had was pretty good. Nice neck.
The Randall MTS "Grail" Lynch Signature module had a great tone and feel.

I really dislike the whole signature model thing.... It makes me avoid the gear completely. When using the gear I certainly do not sound like the endorser ?
Is that really the point? Most Les Paul users sound nothing like Les...most 5150 users sound nothing like Ed. I'm sure for every fanboi trying to emulate their hero there is a player who found a tool that just happens to suit their needs regardless of who's name is on it.

Guthrie Govan's previous Signature Suhr Model
Joe Bonamassa's 1st Edition Signatue Les Paul
Not that it's worth the $$$ but Ibanez' Meshuggah 8 String looks pretty sweet
Zakk Wylde Marshall Sig - the 1st edition
Petrucci Sig EBMM

The American made Washburn Dimes are some sick ass guitars. I've owned several in the past and they were always top-notch.

Not for us ... But I am sure it is for some people.

This has probably been debated before but is a Les Paul really a sig model? If so then it would mean Leo Fenders Tele would be as well as a PRS.

Paul Reed Smith is a brand. Fender is a brand. Gibson is a brand that makes the Les Paul model. See the difference? It was absolutely Les' signature guitar when it was released in '52.

I'd probably say the Vai guitar and amps.

And the Jemini pedal.

I waited months to get it.only person in my area to get one.only one my local store ever got.
What a disappointment.sold it.

I think all the Vai gear is .... I don't know about anyone else here, but all the Carvin gear I have owned or had come through the band room ( Guitars, Basses, Amps, Bass Amps, Cabs) definitely seemed to be more about cost efficiency than tone.

Didn't LP create and design his own guitar and brand, then it couldn't get off the ground, he presented it to Gibson (as a solid body plank of wood) who rejected it, then Gibson asked him to collaborate with Ted McCarty to what was to become the LP Gibson model. Maybe, if LP had more resources, his guitar probably would have been a brand like PRS. ;) Fine line here I believe.

I thought the Carvin Holdsworth guitars are nice.

Fender Jaco Pastorius bass was nice.

I thought the original Mustaine King V's were awesome. I also liked the ESP version of the Mustaine V.

Gibson Les Paul, obviously.

I really like the Duncan JB pickup.

Bare Knuckle's Matt Bellamy pickups are awesome. If you consider his Mansons to be signature guitars, then those guitars are awesome.

Pensa Knopfler guitars were awesome.

Comparing Les Paul and Leo Fender is like comparing dogs and cats. Les was a player who designed his own guitar. Leo was an engineer who designed and sold guitars to players.
