Good choice of a clip. So many times it's usually some generic cheeseburger clip that doesn't show off the amp in a high gain sense. This one does that good job. I'm a KSE fan so of course I like it.

Sounds pretty nice to me. Nice.

Thanks, guys!

That thing is a beast... I am not even into the brutal stuff much anymore but it sounds open, raw, not fizzy, HUGE. That is an incredible amp you've built there. Would love to hear the crunch and 80's tones next.

Thank you, my friend. That was my goal with the gain channel on this amp. I wanted something that sounded big, thick, mean, pissed off, and ready to kick someone's ass!

Good to know about the custom stuff, sir!

I'll get some DI's together tomorrow for you and shoot them over via DropBox.

Sounds good, I look forward to it!

Send me one :D

Actually, I had started sending my personal one out for demo periods but FedEx trashed the amp when the first person sent it back to me. I mean, I don't know what they did, but it must have been thrown off the roof of a building or something and landed upside down. Chassis mounting hardware was ripped half out from the force which left the chassis loosely flopping around inside the cab for the rest of their field day with it. As a result, the chassis got pretty mangled around the corners which required a rebuild inside a new chassis (damage couldn't be repaired). The cab was a little damaged too. I went through around 3 months of trying to get money out of them to repair the amp and finally they coughed up a fraction of what it will cost me. Set me back pretty hard in many ways unfortunately.

Luckily however, the amp still works perfectly. In fact, the same tubes and circuitry that went through all that fiasco are what you are hearing in the clip I posted. Can't kill a stout pirate! :D

I didn't get a chance to track the amp again yesterday, but I'm gonna try to knock out some brutal stuff this morning. This time around, I will only double track the guitars instead of using all four tracks. I'll also post a clip of just a single guitar track by itself. In the meantime, here is a clean Strat clip for anyone who may not have heard it in my other thread. Playing on channel 1 in the clean mode, neck/middle notch position on a mexi Strat with Lace Sensors (finger picking). I'll also update the OP with the clip.

^ Thanks!

OK, here is a new pass with the amp gained up more. This time I only used two guitar tracks (the first clip was quad tracked). Amp settings and a link to one of the guitar tracks isolated by itself have been updated in the original post.

Gah. You're killing me, Craig. Can't wait for mine to be done.

:D

Hey, good news, I got that shipment of parts in today so I can finish up the boards for your amp. Pronz to follow...

Would you guys be interested in a thread detailing Craig's building of my Brigand? He's sent some pics of the populated PCBs tonight and they look gorgeous, more updates expected fairly soon.

Can this be ordered with midi for switching?

Your clips sound awesome Craig!

I think your parametric mid knob is a great idea that should allow for tremendous tone shaping possibilities for each user!

I would like to hear additional clean and mid gain clips when you get a chance. Also, a picture of the footswitch and what all it controls would be nice.

Great sounding amp!!

Yes, incorporating MIDI is possible.

Thanks! The footswitch is a basic 3-switch unit. One switch covers channel switching, another covers channel 1's mode switching, and the third covers channel 2's mode switching.

Is this a kit or your own?

I'm not sure I understand. Can you clarify the question a bit?

Do you purchase the midi interface and adapt it to your amps or make it from scratch?

Oh, gotcha. No, I don't make them from the ground up. I use Highly Liquid hardware.

Sounds great, that thing is a bonified ass-kicker
Raw, tight and open with no fizz, very nicely done sir ;)
