No one remembers this shit, but only a couple years prior to the civil war, every western mag and news/propaganda outlet would run glowing praise of Syria and Assad. Syria was a glowing beacon of secular, melting pot cosmopolitan progress in the Muslim world. Then something changed over night and the propaganda outlets started pumping out non stop 'Assad is Hitler 2.0' stories. Guy was an eye surgeon that worked in super poor areas of the country for years before being basically forced to become president.
Pretty sure Assad was going along with some deal to benefit Israel and the US, and then reneged on it. So they color revolutioned a functioning society, turned it into chaos, are directly responsible for the deaths of millions.
I remember this one because I had a teacher that worked on this article...glowing praise, then revisions to make it 'bad' then memory holed like many others. I had an NPC roommate at the time the civil war started, someone who was basically only interested in fashion and remember him acting like he had a switch turned in his brain about this...just talking non stop about how evil this Assad guy was, which was so odd because he gave two fucks about stuff like this in the past.

I remember when they armed the mujahadeen to fight Russia with weapons that were ultimately used against our own men who got sent over there to fight a "war on terror". What do you terrorize in Afghanistan besides foreign meddlers, rocks, sand, and mountains?

Yeah weird..... kinda like now a certain country would have reason to start bombing them. If humanity only knew how badly it was being played by all sides to attain the ultimate stated goal. I guess all the displaced Arabs are going to live in the EU. Bibi conveniently left out Jordan and Syria in the map he showed to the UN in just a short 2 months ago but they are also to be conquered....seems the plan is a go....Weird how the US and Israel like to topple secular governments and replace them with jihadi Muslim governments ?

Funny how that works, one day they are the darling of the MIC that get weapons and funding and then they are terrorists.....I'll give you two guesses who is funding and supplying weapons to the moderate Syrian rebels......Terrorism...the predicate for neverending wars..... if a certain country wanted to destabilize all arab countries and lay the groundwork to be overtaken....seems like a good plan.
Funfact why did Isil/Isis destroy all ancient Sumerian sites within Iraq?

The combat zone will keep spreading. I don't have much info on rebel forces in Syria but if they are aligned with al kaida it won't "end" well. And the ending is what worries me.

The "moderate" rebel forces aren't aligned with al-Qaeda, they are Al-Qaeda. Different name, different branding. I believe it was Tulsi gabbard that introduced a bill preventing the US from funding terrorists and it was of course rejected.

You ever heard the claim that Hillary Clinton-CIA-MOSSAD and others created ISIS as sort of a clearing house for Islamic radicals? On the one hand it paints her as a villain manipulating fighters for political ends and on the other a hero who was basically rounding them up for destruction. For being such hard line radicals they never laid a hand on Israel.....
I read a few books on ISIS but never could make heads or tails out of it cause some of the people writing or interviewing the books were state department types so who knows what their true motivations/loyalties are. Ever heard that Baghdadi was born Jewish?

I haven't heard either of those claims. But nothing would surprise me at this point haha. A lot of crazy stuff indeed. I think what's basically going on is that the US and Israel are playing divide and conquer with the various Muslim factions, even when those factions are at odds with other US/Israeli interests.
