The frets on MY strat are taller under the thicker strings and shorter under the thinner strings. When they were levelled, whoever did the job decided they would make them that way. every fret angles down a little toward the board as they go down toward the floor

Whadya think of that!?

yeah I think it was a factory job,
It would make more sense to do it the other way,
I thought it was strange and wanted to see if anybody's had a guitar like this.

wasnt this a popular thing to do in the 80s?

I know paul gilbert had/has a Rickenbacker that had angled frets that supposedly makes you play faster?

He mentions it on Terrifying Guitar Trip i believe!

I thought that was a joke? Angled frets usually look like this....

I think those are "fanned" frets like on Charlie Hunter's guitar...

Gilbert said he had fanned frets on his video, didn't he?

I friend of mine has a Bee Bass, fanned frets, pretty cool and really does make that long scale a bit easier.

i thought he just said that the guitar had angled frets which allows you to play like 10% faster or something?

That could mean fanned frets, or angled like the original poster's guitar frets? Who knows!
