Maybe I've been listening to too much Brother Cane and Rolling Stones, but I thought I would give a go at dialing in channel 2 to be as plexi as I could. I still need to do some more adjusting, but I think I got a fairly close cranked plexi tone. Some Channel three thrown in for good measure...lol

What are your settings on the Blue channel, that sounds sweet!?

It's closer to a Plexi tone than any Diezel I've heard. :D ;)

Here is the actual tone.. note its sweeter, less distorted but still heavy sounding, and more clarity.

Settings are gain 4:00, bass 1:00, mids 11:00, treble 12:00, presence 11:00

I know it's not the exact tone. This is actually set much brighter than I normally run the channel. Also more gain than I usually run on this channel as well. Like I said, I was going for an angry plexi style tone. Maybe I'll try to actually nail that tone later today. I was mainly just bored and trying new sounds. :)

As always, sounds great...what speakers are you using?

Stock V30s in the recto cab. One of these days, I'll get the matching EVH cab. Just having a hard time letting go of the $1k for it. Lol

I got mine for $399 used from GC

Sounds pretty good, but you might have better luck with a more authentic plexi tone by cranking the gain on the green channel and lowering the volume.

He's also using a strat. And Thomas Blug could make a toaster sound heavenly. ;)

Having owned a Marshall 1987, I can tell you that the level of gain I dialed in with the following clip is more than on tap on a plexi style amp. The purpose of the first clip was to achieve a bit of that southern high octane rock tone. Which I thought I did fairly well. The below clip is me dialing in a more vintage plexi style tone. Keep in mind that the BKP Rebel Yell is much hotter than the 62 strat single coil that Thomas Blug is using in the other clip. Forgive the sloppy playing... :)

I dig the second clip a lot more. Still the blue channel?

Sounds good! If you ever decide to change the speakers, consider a quad of G12H30 55Hz.

Likewise. Closer to a cranked plexi tone but still a little tighter.
