Stupid question: I still have my gcx ground control midi controller. I can use that to control an axe fx or kemper + effects etc.... without needing the loop switcher brain right??

I'm trying to simplify my future rig:
Kemper + 2 space rack bag for effects

My goal is to have the smallest rig possible that can duplicate my old 12 space rack set up and more
but I want to avoid having extra rack units if not necessary.

I believe the loop switcher's main purpose was to preserve the integrity of the original tone, cutting out effects or bringing them in when necessary.

If that's the case, I could settle for less integrity on the tone to cut down 1 rack spaceif anyone knows what I'm talking about, please chime in!!!

If you will just be controlling MIDI devices then you wouldn't need the audio looper.
