Not sure about the documentary but DZep were pretty active in the 90s. Saw em several times. Yeah I’m old.

Nope, it’s real. They were quite popular when I was in Boston, around 90-92. The Doc itself goes into parody of itself in the latter half though, so gets into Tap territory a little. But real band, real albums.
