Axe FX as an effets unit in a WDW set up

Would I be able to use the AxeFX with my Bogner in a WDW and be able to put the Bogner's preamp, ala a four cable method, anywhere in the chain and still be able to send the dry back to the Bogner head and the wet to stereo cabs?

Yup.

Would you still be able to use the modeling this way too. As in if say I liked an AC30 patch, would I be able to set it up so that I can bypass the Bogner pre then use the AC30 in the Axe and still have the WDW thing happening?

Yeah, because when you four cable the bogner you're splitting the preamp and poweramp sections... you also could run fx before the bogner or after it too. Just turn off the fx loop (which is where your bogner preamp would be) and put an amp sim there.

I'm going to try mine with my recto, because the axe pretty much NAILS my 101B's tone.

See I wonder this too becaue Ive done the 4 cable method with other units and you have to use the loop in your amp. See I dont want to use the loop, I want use a line out but still be able to put the pre from the Bogner too or maybe use a pre inside the Axe if I wanted. Any ideas how you wire this up if its possible?

I tried to do that as well, I asked if an insert option (like a Lexicon MPX G2 uses) could be an option for the next gen Axe-Fx.

I have a Switchbalde and a Hotplate, I have been thinking of a way to work them into the equation, but the bottom line for me so far is...the axe models are so much fun to play with I haven't been sweating not having a "real" amp in the loop yet.
