Hey guyz,

Some of you may have seen I put up a new AXE Vid showing the Dizzy VH4
For this one I wanted a big sludgey tone - Like a stoner rock type feel.

Every other sample of AXE based VH4's I've seen has been Tight Djenty-ness.
Which is awesome - but I thought I'd try to go for something a little different instead of just re-hashing the same old preset.

The cab is a tone match block of my Blackstar 4x12 miced with sm57 - but then EQ'd to hell in Cubase.

Basically got a cool live sound going through the cab - Miced it up - Recorded it - EQ'd it - then used THAT recording to make the Tone Match block.

Cheers ~

sounds good =0

wanted to say that the guitar is particularly awesome, looks slick

Nice and fat. Well done. How much of the sound would you attribute to the amp sample and how much to your heavily tweaked cab block?

Dude, your posts (clips/vids) are awesome

Thanks for the post - sounded great.

Mojo

Thanks guys,

I put up the "Out The Mix" version of this preset last night as well and will hopefully have a new series up and running tonight showing how it all sounds live thru a power amp and cabs - both room and close miked.

Well I basically just tried to tweak the Cab Block to sound as close as possible to what I was hearing out of my live cabs - It also has the typical hi and low pass filtering you would use applied directly to the Tone Match Block - so literally zero post processing was done!!

what drums are those? a plugin to cubase that you program?

I use Toontrack Superior with the Metal Machine EZX - most of the time I play the drums live with an M-Audio Trigger Finger but this was programmed in Cubase with the drum editor.

New Video Series - "From Studio to Stage"

The Idea behind this video series is to show what each Preset we create sounds like through a REAL Power-Amp and 4x12" cab both Close and Room Miked.
Hopefully soon we'll get a few different speakers to throw into the Blackstar Cabs so that we have more than just the Vintage 30's to record -

(considering making one of the cabs a Celestion Cab and the other an Eminence Cab - We'll see)

Heres the first video in the series showing the last Diezel VH4 preset we made through a QSC GX3 Power-Amp into a Celestion Vintage 30 loaded "Recto" sized Blackstar Cab Miked with an SM57 "Close" and an AT4040 "Room"

Wow, that is very impressive man... If I ever pick up an AXE FX I'm telling the wife it is your fault.
