Full disclosure: I plan to sell one, yet turned to eBay & Reverb's completed listings to see the same products (without any additional H/W or plugins) were selling used within a $1k range.

Why is that? I've never seen such a disparity in any amp head / combo / modeler in the several years of online music forums (besides rarities like '68 Marshalls & Mesa IIC's)

I'm not seeing those same results. Just about everything on both sites is $1750+, and generally closer to $2K. Any chance you're also seeing "completed" listings, and not just "sold" ones?

I agree, Im getting ready to enter the AxeIII market. Looking in the secondary market these sellers are all listing near the cost of a new unit or more in some cases. These units can be bought direct for $2K and are in stock. I dont get the secondary market pricing when I can buy brand new for a couple hundred dollars more.

I just checked the FAS site and apparently there is a waiting list for the AxeIII. That could explain why the AxeIII have gone up in price in the used market. Supply and demand!

Plenty more sold at that price on Reverb as well, just for the unit (no other hardware).

Ahh, that's prolly it. Thanks

also the FAS is having issues
the fan
high pitched squeals after an hour of use etc
i am sure cliff will sort it though

I had someone offer me exactly what I paid for it more than 2 years ago via PM on another site.

I kept it. Really solid unit and sounds great.

Did you mean you're seeing them within $1K of new price? I thought you meant you were seeing IIIs for around $1K.
Ahh yeah, sorry I was thinking of a way to properly articulate that (before creating this thread), yet still had that problem.

Yes, I was wondering why Axe FX IIIs are selling from $1800 to $2800, for the same hardware without any additional hardware. I wasn't aware that there's still a waitlist
