Do you mean Ground Control Pro? If so I saw one on the Fractal forum for sale.

I'm using a Carvin DCM 1000 and have no complaints. That being said I think I'm going to get a FBT Verve 12ma.

I've been using an SLA-2 for a month or so as well. I tried my 2:90 again yesterday just to be sure...still prefer the SLA-2 with the Axe.

My load in for gigs went from 7 trips to the car down to 3!

Ed - just to clarify do you mean the gain slider on the global out1 eq? All I see is that and the freq. sliders from 63->8k

thanks
Yup the far right slider, make sure it's at 0 db.

Went SS about six months ago. My back and my wallet are grateful.

I agree 100%
Not only did it lighten up the rig it cost me damn near $180 to re-tube my 2:90. With that said Even though the tubes last a while as murphy's law would have it, tubes usually go at the worst time or when your flat broke and can't afford a re-tube
Or more importantly mid gig, that's why I still have the mosvalve as a back up in the rack if my VHT ever goes down mid gig. That said, I'm doing a couple of ou o state shows and I don't think I'll take anything then the Axe in th 2 space rack bag, 2 guitars and the floor controller and call it a day. I mean there is no reason to worry about weight in my rack, but when it counts might as well totally down size.

I used an ADA B200S (2 channel, 100W per channel, SS) power amp then the Bose L1 FRFR when I had my Ultra. Back in the day when I started using SS, tube and hybrid preamps I started using SS power amps; it didn't take long to forget about tube power sections.

IMO, with all the capabilities for warmth and dynamics in the Axe-Fx, the only reasons to use a tube power amp are: 1) hi-fi; 2) you want power amp coloration of your tone; 3) you enjoy lifting weight to / from practice/gigs; 4) you have a tube power amp and don't want to spend money on a new SS power amp. I suppose hi-fi and headroom are debatable with a 1500 watt SS power amp...

;)

I got great tones with the Axe through my Carvin DCM1000, but at the moment I am happy with Axe=>VHT2502 and poweramp sims OFF.

Did you use poweramp sims on or off when you tried the mesa power amps?

I was running my AFX through an SLA-2 and was happy, but just went to a Mesa 20/20 - still single space and it's lighter than the SLA-2 (albeit not by much). I run it through my cabs and find that it has a slightly better in-room sound & feel. Forgot to turn the PA sims off at first when using the Mesa tho

Sounds like you are on a Graphic EQ (GEQ).
Go to Global on the front panel of the AxeFx and hit the page button until you get to the Global EQ page, that's where you will find the Gain slider..the Graphic EQ (GEQ) within a patch does not have the Gain slider.

Hi Mark, I ment to say 63-8K and the gail slider. Thanks though.
I've got (and had) all volumes at normal 0 db levels and I'm even pushing the internal levels so much for volume with the DCM 600 that I am red lining the output 1 clip light on the front of the axe and it still sounds not near as loud as my 2902, to my ears. I'll do some more experiments.
