Post subject: I am a dummy and need big help if anyone is available. Please.
As you all know, I am still on the 1st software release. I now have a Midisport 2x2 midi interface. I am a total midiot. I really need help here. I am dying to update my Axe-FX tonight. I haven't a clue how to do it and Wiki was of little help at all as to configuring my Midisport and then updating the unit.

If anyone has time to walk me through this tonight, I will be more than a little appreciative.

Gary

PS. I only have one midi cable and it is hooked from midisport to the axe-fx midi in from the midisport out.

Hey Riffy, go here http://www.axechange.net/editor.aspx and download that. Next install that and install the 2x2 (if you haven't already). Open the editor and go to options > select midi devices. Make sure you the output device set to the 2x2. Also make sure the little button on the front of the 2x2 is in the right position. In one position it's a midi through and the other is for the USB. Pick the USB setting.

Next in the editor go to file > upload firmware to Axe Fx. Next go to your Axe Fx and push in util and page left until you see it display your firmware and it will say press enter to upload. Push enter. Next go back to the editor and follow the directions, basically you just need to point it to the firmware you want to upload and start it.

Next wait for awhile while the firmware comes up. If it says Bad Checksum when it's done loading you need to power down the Axe Fx, close the editor and start over. If it says Good Checksum it will flash the firmware. After it's done doing it's thing power down the Axe Fx. Power it back up, push UTIL and scroll back to the same spot and the firmware should be the one you just loaded.

Does your PC recognize your 2x2? I had trouble with Vista and the 2x2 driver, thankfully my DAW is still running XP.
