The release of V10 was almost like that of an anticipated World of Warcraft or Dungeons and Dragons scenario. So much frothing. SO much.
I think that's part of the business model and pretty effective. It's literally a NAD every release.

Yea man, I'm not gonna play your Kemper troll game but to answer your question, it was a few versions ago. ;)
So again, it was realer a few versions ago, and now it's realer. Not only realer, but realer with a BAMMM!!! I do love AxeFX fan boys. They are the best.

that's more realer !!!! :D

so does an axe fx ultra still sound good? this is a serious question, how does an axe ultra compare to the ii?

And here we go again.

Firmware changes always get them going. Cool but still funny as hell. Clip is fine but doesn't sound very Plexi to me. Honestly, I don't hear much difference in the latest clips vs last rounds V9 barrage of clips. Kind of smart Fractal adds some things to keep their customer from going to other products. I just think the method to model amps isn't the greatest and just not as effective as the competition.

I'm a fan of the Axe Fx and other digital gear. I own an Ultra, while a fan of the firmware changes, it's a pita hindrance when you had to change all your damn presets. I didn't really see much extra on the Axe Fx2 either. Maybe the next one I'll buy if its more realer and more amp like than the 2.

I also have a Kemper. For me the Kemper is a few yards ahead of the Axe Fx2 no matter the firmware. It just sounds more natural.

Cliff's cool, but his biz model is constant change. Axe Fx premise seems to be redesign by constant revision. CK's method is here ya go, this works. Have fun.

Can't wait to see so many of these guys go just as silly with the next firmware change. Bet they shit themselves again when the Axe Fx 3 comes out. It's on $2999 but more realer than the last one. It has TTTRTT (tube tetrode triode real tube technology)!!

I've owned a Axe II for less than a month. I recieved it just long enough before V10 to set my patches with V9 only to have to re tweak them after upgrading. I was not overly impressed with the earlier versions which is why I've held off buying untill now. V9 exceed my expectations, I'm a fanboi now (coming from a die hard self confessed valve corksniffer). I haven't delved into V10 but the Plexi amps are a noticable improvement on V9. I'm not much of a tweaker, just dial in an amp and adjust the basic settings as you would on a traditional amp. I played my Plexi bank at rehersals last night and everyone in my band commented how fantastic it sounded. The guys have heard me play through a lot of big named amps (no mentioning any names). To be honest I couldn't care if there was never another upgrade, it sounds that good.

Sums up my thoughts too. I'm still wanting to bash the thing for -something- but I can't anymore

FWIW I ain't bashing it either. I have an Ultra that suits me fine for now. I just find the hyped over glory hilarious. Coming from both the Standard, then its firmware changes, to teh Ultra and its firmware changes and all the ZOMG fellas its that much realer. I can see why others that don't even have one might suggest owners are a little bit too exuberant.

I can also predict the same things said about the next Axe Fx3 too. It's part of the history at just about every forum.
