Some folks don't get what educated people refer to as "analogies".
Sure. The analogy was that a 1959 RCA 6l6 Blackplate made a super reverb sound better, not that it sounded bad before. The analogue....V10 sounds better, not that V9 sounded bad before. Therefore, a tube change is the difference in v9 and v10.

And v11? ;)

It's cool man. I'm glad you guys are getting a taste of what it's like to have a Kemper. What version do you believe the Axe will be more realer than a Kemper (because it was more realer than real amps many versions ago)?

Yea man, I'm not gonna play your Kemper troll game but to answer your question, it was a few versions ago. ;)

For the record, I was touting the Kemper months before it was even in production. I think it's tits.

that sounds very good. It has a nice "lively" sound to it. V10=

Sounds good to me as does His Bogner Red and Dumble clean clips.

From the clips there is certainly something going on that has changed the tone for the better IMO

I don't own an axe fx anymore. What I'm wondering is it as easy as placing an amp and cab block?
Yes but the real mic'd cab will sound better IMHO.

Funny that the maker of Friedman amps thought the Axe 10 part of this clip of his amp was the real amp when he clip heard the below. Pete Thorns comparison clip:

So again, it was realer a few versions ago, and now it's realer. Not only realer, but realer with a BAMMM!!! I do love AxeFX fan boys. They are the best.

Peace. :)

I think it sounds pretty good, not trying to be divisive here, but I am not really hearing anything different then what I have been hearing from the Axe ever since tone match. What should I be listening to that is much better then previous versions of the axe? serious question btw. my ears could be fried.

This is something I did very quickly on the lowly axe Standard awhile ago, still sounds pretty good to me, and maybe I am just not hearing it, but not that much suckier, although different playing for sure and not a great comparison.

if i owned one, or a kemper, i'd certainly spend less time on forums....and more time jamming and programming!

I will give the fan boys that this update actually sounds like one to be excited about. But we'll see how real it is when it gets realer in future releases. This is the way of the AxeFX.
Well, I think you know that for the last couple years, I was anything BUT an Axe fanboi. Fact is, I intentionally tried to find out its shortcomings and had a real disdain for the FAS community overall. Perhaps it was ignorance or stubbornness or what not, but I didn't believe the claims and I certainly didn't hear the claims. There was a definite "disconnect" from what everyone was "gushing" about to where I was getting the unit.

Fast forward to now? Mega change. And ya, the CLRs probably made the greatest impact; but as I was dialed in on V9, I was getting some great tones - superb tones. With V10 beta and now the full release, there are more tone shaping capabilities, for sure. But what I've got now is a great amp "feel". It truly acts, spits, grunts, breaths, and snaps like any amp in question. It makes playing really enjoyable, and the tones are sick. As for the amp-in-the-room feel, it's there. Some custom far-field IRs, the 2 CLRs at half-mast, boom. Stoked. And this coming from a former 'hater' so to speak :D

Something's definitely happened, and I gotta say, there's a fuck lot of tech in that box. Too much for me. But hey, I turn on, plug in, and she sounds way nice. Another little [sad perhaps] fact: since the CLRs arrived, haven't turned an amp on yet.

To each their own.

The V10 Plexi is fantastic, I prefer the 50w Trebble personally. The new Bogner tones pricked my ears also. I'll switch to them as soon as I get off the Plexi bank!

Yep you've been one of the more even headed AxeFX users that doesn't jump in with all the over the top hyperbole. I never was either when I was using one. I guess that makes people like you and I "haters".

I was participating in a thread a few days ago on tgp. The guy was complaining about the kemper not sound or feeling like an amp in the room. Turns out the guy was playing it through studio monitors. I mean some peoples expectations are just unrealistic. And I just asked the guy how that could even compare to an amp in the room or even a power amp and guitar cab. The way he was using it would be more like an isolated miked cab through studio monitors. But what was more amazing is that pretty much most everybody in the thread overlooked the fact that he was playing through studio monitors and expecting it to sound like a 4X12 kicking him in the ass. That's how the thread wars start.

I don't own either, but I do own an RP1000. Which I know is not in the same league as the Axe or Kemper. But I do know that with a power amp and a 4x12 that I can get some tones that will rip your face off. The only thing that's really missing is the feel and give of an amp. I would bet with the axe or Kemper the feel would be close enough to an amp and the versitilty would probably more than make up for the small short comings in the feel department for me.

Hell as far as modeling goes, I played a buddy's JMD50 at a benefit. I had that thing ripping within just a few minutes to dial it in. Even my buddy was surprised at the tone I was getting. Especially, after hearing what junk they were on here and TGP.

I just try and stay objective. Let my ears and some concerted effort and time tweaking tell me what's happening. I personally think that the majority of active participants on the FAS forum are less guitar players, more geeks and wannabe guitar players. The release of V10 was almost like that of an anticipated World of Warcraft or Dungeons and Dragons scenario. So much frothing. SO much. Then it gets released - and I seriously don't think half the blokes knew what to do with it. Tech is like that - it'll separate the players from the frothers/wannabes. A lot of the cats in the biz of touring are still using Ultras for chrissakes.

Right. And seriously - if the guy woulda JUST STEPPED BACK and assessed the situation rather than posit a ludicrous statement online, it would have blown over and he'd have seen that he was doing it wrong. But no, seems a lot of the FAS'ers are geeks, and prefer to discuss their imaginary playing and imaginary songs to the online community rather than STFU and playing their guitar. Granted, the FAS forum has definitely become a little more lax and tolerant to good banter. I am pleased with this - as it seemed no matter WHEN I turned up over there in the last couple years, my posts were deleted and an infraction was sent

Things are coming along nicely.
