I can't blame him. He's got his own forum as it is. Why clean up shit in 2 places? It's a shame that a company with a product like the Axe can't operate here without the bullshit.

Yeah I mean I think it's kinda lame come in here and say it was some member's fault for causing shit and just kill the the forum. IMHO it kinda comes across as a shot across the bow at this forum. Why not get Brad to ask those people to cut it out instead of killing the forum? I'm still puzzled about what shit he had to clean up here.

The worst thing I remember reading was "Here comes the Tube amp huggers"
and guys just talking about the differences in rigs. Axe-fx vs Tube amps.
I really dont remember it getting "heated" or out of hand in the slightest.

Seriously if that's the reason then all I can say is WOW! I mean really? That's all it takes for you to want to pull a forum where guys share info about your product? Mmmmmmm ok. I seriously hope it was something much worse than that.

Well........I did say I would smash it against the wall if I was all liquored up out jamming trying to program it and getting frustrated.

If that was the reason then I guess you are right about no room for saying anything about what you may not care for in the unit. I've always said it was very very good unit. The FX and direct applications are just great. It just didn't work for me as a live rig like a tube amp does. I was actually earlier thinking of grabbing a standard later this year for it's FX alone so I don't know given this and what I've said could be construed as causing shit.

But for me....it was a HELPING factor watching the clips....not to slam the unit.

I didn't have anyone slamming the Axe in my thread on the SLO sim...hell, a few people said it gave them GAS

Pick ANY (and I mean ANY) amp out there, and I can find you a pile of shitty clips or videos.

For me the Axe is a GREAT unit.

Cliff is a really cool guy. I've spent plenty of time at the LA amp show in the Fractal room over the last couple of years, and both he and Tom couldn't be nicer.

If it doesn't work for him here, I get it. No hard feelings

Talking shit about Cliff is silly. One of the nicest, most talented guys around.

I killed my youtube channel, but I figured I'd throw this back up for sport....flame away on the Axe Fx ...please feel free to post YOUR amp videos or clips that sound better than the Axe, and I'll do my best to match or beat them (Dave if you're reading this, it might take a minute to match that Jose....or not...might have to break out my big guns) ......but the rest of you, feel free to have at it ...

The only time I talk shit about the AxeFX is in jest with the fan boys. Otherwise, I merely state that it didn't sound as good or feel the same as a good tube amp. If that is "talking shit", then I'm not sure what to say. If every amp builder pulled forums or threads because someone said their amp didn't sound good to them we'd be left to discuss beer, tits, and politics....either that or every thread would merely be, "Yeah!! X amp rocks balls!!!" Fuck that. For an amp I'm interested in, I want to see people's negative opinions on them because most of the time, you'll get more truth out of the negative comments.

I bought the AxeFX to replace my rig and have a direct recording solution. I thought modeling had gotten good enough. In terms of the average listener, it probably is good enough. In the end, it's going to come down to how the owner feels about it. For me, it just didn't quite reach the sound and feel of a good tube amp. In all fairness, that "good tube amp" can do it's thing better than the AxeFX, but the "good tube amp" can't do ALL the other amps better than the AxeFX. That should go without saying, I suppose.

As for the SLO, I have clips to back it up but I'd have to go and chop wav files up and upload them somewhere for comparison. I'm not sure what the point would be. The only clips I have of my old SLO all are in song contexts (with some delay) and all my AxeFX clips are by themselves trying to match the tones....with an entirely different guitar. So there are several reasons (or excuses) as to why I couldn't get the same tone and feel. Even if we overlook those reasons, the ultimate fallback for AxeFX users has no comeback...."you can't dial it in right!!" So if that is the case, what is the point of any comparison?

In the end, I couldn't get the AxeFX to replace my old SLO. I tweaked and tweaked, because I missed that amp. It was just not as warm and the lead tone was thinner without the magic going on. I knew that was going to happen when I bought it and I thought I'd be ok with it. I wasn't. But hey, I couldn't dial it in right, right? See there is little point to posting comparisons because the AxeFxers have the ultimate trump card...user error.
