axefx, 4 cable method. Will this work...?

Single Channel amp (Laney GH100l) AxeFX hooked up via 4 cable method....

What is needed...

Laney Tone all by itself.
Laney Tone with axefx effects in the loop
AxeFX models through return of the loop only on the laney.

Im trying to help a friend out before he buys a bunch of other expensive shit. He wants the axefx but needs to know if the above will work. His other solution is to buy a second laney gh100l (one to run distored all the time.. one to run clean) and two 2 eventide eclipse's for his effects. :scared: :lol: :LOL:

The loop should be either serial or able to be put to serial.

Those sounds where only the real amp should be heard just need a new patch with the AF FX loop "installed" (and configured). Read the hints about the correct levelling for the "global" and the "loop" in the AF forum by Cliff to avoid hiss.
If you should run intoi ground loops (which is possible) a line isolation box (Palmer) will solve that - or a transfomer-isolated DI-Box.

ill have to look up if the laney's loop is serial or not. and I saw the 4cable method post mentioned the levels.

Yep, did it for almost a year until I went to an Axe-Only rig.
