What are those Chapman guitars like?

Wow great Tone and playing!!! I'm also interested in those Chapman guitars! Any comments about it Rocco?

they're really solid! the cool thing about them is the collaborative design process, which basically sets them apart from the "standard" guitar companies. basically guitarists on the internet (through the chapman guitars forum) get to vote on specs, choosing literally everything, from shape, woods, construction, scale length, hardware etc..there are several polls and the end result is a guitar made by the people, for the people! this kind of brand/customer connection is just impossible to have with other companies (other than custom shop options of course)..another cool fact is price, all Chapmans are now made in Korea by World Music, which is the same factory that works for LTD and PRS, just to name a couple, quality is top notch and prices are ridiculously low due to the fact that Andertons UK is the only dealer(after this years' NAMM there's been a couple of US shops that started selling them too), there's no in-between distributors! :)

Ok thanks but, compare to a Strat, a Charvel etc what is it like?

well it totally depends on the model and your playing style/taste, but I'd say the ML1 Bea (which is the one you saw in the video) has got a really comfy neck, kinda in between a strat and an ibanez wizard one, but not too thin..it has its own thing going on but again, it just feels "right".it also comes standard with a seymour duncan custom in the bridge and a 59' in the neck, both awesome sounding pups, overall a very versatile guitar!

I have been avoiding the Kemper and Axefx trying to dismiss them as a fad but the more I see, hear, try them, the more I would like to buy one.
thanks! I'm using the Friedman BE (by far my favorite go-to amp to play eddie's tunes) with just the OH412 MAR-CB V30-CH Studio Modern from the OwnHammer UltraRes pack, mic is set on "null"!
Thanks for the info. I have been really liking the BE myself and playing with options.
Glad to hear I am on the right track :D

Excellent playing BTW...hardest thing is to capture Eddie's feel during the rhythm parts. I love the way he "swings" and blends chording with arpeggiated lines. Tap intro was always one of fav's as well.
You did a great job with the feel of the tune. Do more vids

Excellent!!

Love that one myself.
I'm with Pete, which amp and which cab did you choose?
You got a great tone there...

great playing but there is something about the distortion thats off to my ears. Its like the "grit" or "glassiness" and kinda sounds fake :( ( I can hear it with a few models)
Same thing I think it was as the interactive guitar magazine when they did the review (used that fredman amp)
Apparently the guy that builds them couldn't tell the A/B so maybe I wouldn't like the sound of the real amp either

Holy Shit that was killer! 1984 is my favorite VH album. Love the tone he got on that record and I felt his playing had really come into it's own. Sure he was genius before VH1 came out but his effortless chording, riffing, melody phrasing and choices of voicings and also his lead phrasing was just that much more polished and mature. It's amazing rock guitar 101.

Seeing someone play it so well when you're focused on just the guitar playing really helps bring it home how incredible he was.

Rocco do you have any vids of original music?

thanks guys!

thanks man, yeah I have a full solo album out, totally different genre though (instrumental prog metal), you can check it out here

and you can download it by going here https://plasticmindfrequencies.bandcamp.com

I also have a couple of projects in the works, a hard rock-80s vibe thing and an alternative metal one, both with full band and vocals :)

Really great playing and tone. Even through my bluetooth phone ear piece. You have this tube amp guy wanting to try an Axe Fx.. Just don't tell my amp builder friends.
