all those amps behind scarfman seem a little less attractive all of the sudden
 
You are on to something. It probably is just because you can't tell expression in words only.

Dig..... Well I picked up a Parker PM-20 last weekend on the ultra cheap..... and it plays and sound f'in outstanding!! Sounds great, low action, looks cool with the knotty maple top. I was going looking for a tele but left with the Parker. And dayum, that little Parker sounds great thru my Zinky Velvet. About 750 total invested in that rig. I think it sounds great. Not even 1/4 of required cork sniffer mony spent for just a guitar. Yet some say you have to spend pro level $$ to have a good tone. I say you have to be a sucker to pay list price and leave thinking $$ spent is automatically = good tone/playing.

Tone snobs be damned!! You can get a good guitar used guitar on the cheap and not pay cork sniffer prices. . The coil tap on the neck pup is awesome. I hope the Suhr Rasmus line is able to be as good as this one particular PM-20. Have not found a Rasmus yet.....

On some other board, I would expect to get shit for saying a cheaper guitar can sound great. Hell, the guy I am jamming with now has an Anderson, but loves my JP6.

Sometimes I think the tone I like the most is the one I don't have.....

Nate +1000 on that! I mean when you said you didn't like little wing, I was like, huh, whaa, who doesn't like little wing? I try to play either Jimi's or Stevie's rendition and I just can't so I don't feel as a musician that I have the right to bitch about either of them, guess it would be like bitching about Robert Johnson's fame only came because he used altered tunings.

You and me's still good though bro...I wasn't mad, just confused

I'm not a Jimi disciple...but Little Wing is magic, one of his best!
I remember being in grade 6 at the time I first heard Little Wing on the radio, I wasn't a guitar player yet of course, but I knew there was something special in that song even then.
 
Rig-talk is super friendly. I've moderated gearslutz for 6 years and when I came here it was like I entered the friendly zone. I couldn't believe how peaceful this place was. Producer/engineers can be a really rough crowd.
 
I dig RT... I floated around a number of other sites, and still do periodically, but this place seemed solid, and had some credible people at its foundation. I think the wave of :confused: lately is just due to some heavy threads which end up being bitchfests more than anything else. The digs start and then, when people are in that groove, it just keeps spreading into different threads. It's a wave I think, seasons change, people get weird in the autumn months - it's that innate evolutionary predisposition to most of us being hunter-gatherers, we become territorial :lol: :LOL:

Whatever, at the end of the day, it's all about the music and the gear... And quality peeps with a lot of good experience to add to the mix!!

:lol: :LOL: Nah man, I wasn't saying I didn't like little wing, I was just saying Jimi Hendrix is pretty overrated IMO. I've listened to people go on and on about how great he is and it's mind boggling to me sometimes. I do like some Hendrix though, so don't get me wrong I just don't think he's the greatest ever or anything like he's made out to be. And thanks for forgiving me and my sandy axe wound :D
