B Tuning and Gain?

Thanks man. Well, I have noticed a severe lack of consistency in sound and quality coming from SD. When I was at Washburn, we would turn away 50%-60% of the SD pickups that we received. I'm definitely a convert to the PRS Tremonti Treble for heavy, low tuned stuff. It even sounds really nice tapped, and I actually used that pickup tapped for the majority of the tracks my PRS was used on for the album. I'm dying to try the Suhr Aldrich pickups though.

So I"ve been real happy with my DSL 50 lately but Friday I restrung my old Ibanez S Series with 13's and tuned it down to B and noticed that the DSL souneded like it had a lot less gain that before. I picked up one of my EC-1000's with 10's tuned to E and whamo....plenty of gain...anybody notice this? It's weird!

I've found that lower tunings change everything and you have to approach your ideal tone in a different way than standard. Lower tunings definitely benefit from a boost imo.

Aldrich as on my next to try list, as well as Anderson H2+. Right now waiting for my first bare knuckle, can't wait to see what all the fuzz is about.
I'm dying to try one of those PRS SEs for Drop A# too. Their string through body bothers me though.

i notice a difference when using thicker strings. thinner strings have more saturation to them i think. i like my Duncan Invader tuning to B. nile uses invaders and their dean v's and DSL's and their tone has tons of saturation
