Dave is also using a PRS amp. They did a great show in Portland last Sat!!!

Wednesday, Weiner had a BE and PRS amp each sitting on top of 2 PRS 4x12's. Looks like the PRS amp that he had on stage a couple nights ago was replaced by another BE100.

The 2nd Friedman is actually for Steve Vai and sitting there because it looked cool to have two on the back line. Dave is playing the Brown Eye channel at the show.

My guitar tech here in Buffalo worked on Steve's #1 and another guitar of his. Steve had him put a scalloped neck on one of them.

I asked him about the true temperament, spaghetti looking frets that Vai used to have on his guitars and he told me that the system works great for 10 gauge strings, but that Steve prefers 9's and it wasn't as beneficial for him.

The only thing I'm on the fence with Vai is the fact that he endorses gear he doesn't use, or only used for a month or something. He is a great guy, an amazing guitarist, but that just makes me wonder.

Not sure I follow, he has endorsed Ibanez guitars and Carvin amps forever and he uses both. He endorses that Gemini "Jem" pedal and uses that on his board. He endorses Fractal Gear and has 2 in his rack.

Not sure if he endorses that Polar Aire fan but he uses it live...

He uses his Legacy 1's but never used the 2's or 3's. He just has them for show. His Ibanez sig models, he mains his EVO, and uses some custom ones but never really his others (Like his newest JEM incarnation.) All I'm getting at is, although he does have sig stuff he uses, there is a bunch that he very rarely uses and sometimes doesn't use at all.

Yeah, maybe he can get the PolarAire people to toss him some cash if he lets them take a couple photos of his hair blowin' back during a ripping solo.

I have no problem with this whatsoever.

Did anyone else catch the Club Nokia show on Directv the other night? Badass stuff. I'm not a Vai fan ok, but there is no denying his masterful technique. Blows me away every time.
