they are near me, about 10 miles, so I go for strings, picks, etc. their prices are high, but when neil schon drops stuff off to sell used, the prices are outrageous. I saw a Landry in there today and asked the price. The employee said, "i think that is about 3500." I said, "dude, they cost less than that new!" he said, "yeah, but that is Neil Schons!" They had an Uberschall, a couple 3rd Power HD100 heads, and a Dual Rectifier. All way over priced. I am sure they would have to come down a bit if you made an offer, but I doubt much. They are notoriously hard to deal with, and they put Schon on a god like pedestal. He goes in there, gets a bunch of amps, plays them, then returns what he doesn't like. That's what an employee told me a while ago, they are on loan to him because they can sell them for more than new prices when he returns them. Maybe he signs some, I don't know, I didn't see any signatures anywhere. I couldn't believe they were asking so much!

Hey......when you look like this...you can get away with it.

I don't trust that outfit. When the Vertex fiasco broke and the owner confessed to duping customers, Bananas stated that they would continue to resell the Vertex Wahs until they were out of stock, even though they were aware of the shenanigans. All this BS really pisses me off. :gethim:

Yeah, that's not really what he said. At least in the TGP thread. Long, long thread. He basically said he was working with Vertex to resolve the issue and everyone jumped on the guy like he was still selling the wah's under false pretenses. He came back and clarified the issue and made it clear that he would make anybody whole that bought one from him.

Yeah. That's not how I read it. I believe the Wahs were still for sale on their site at the original price too. Not sure how long that lasted. I don't hang out at TGP nor have a user account there. If I misrepresented Bananas at Large then I apologize but what I said is the way my friends and I understood it :dunno:

Edit: OK. Found the thread in question. He did take the Wahs down, but not the rest. Thanks for calling me out on that.

Yeah man, not really my intent to call you out but that thread has just been crazy. The shit slinging has been unbelievable. It has taken so many crazy turns it's crazy. I guess the guy from 65 amps does a weekly video chat with the guy from Falco guitars. They were discussing it and people started jumping all over them. This Josh guy has taken it on himself on this personal crusade and he never even bought anything from Mason. I like TGP because they have a lot of useful information on there. But, when something like this happens, they just loose their freakin minds there. And, there's just a group of them that can be such big pussies it's crazy. I mean, what the dude did was way wrong. But it isn't like they got taken down for a grand or something. And the dude is making good on the wah and cable by refunding everybody. That never happens. People usually just disapear with people money. And that same group of people just going and going and going. The dudes career doing what he's doing is over, he's been called out, humiliated, he's done and is still refunding everybody. And people stilll have their foot on his throat. Let it go folks. And again, it really the people that didn't even buy anything that keep it going.

bananas at large charges 7 bucks for a regular pack of super slinkys!! preposterous!

The names of these friggin places is just beyond me. When I think of bananas at large, guitars is the first thing that comes to mind????? Or destoy all guitars, weird too. Only one I thought was semi cool was "Axe and ye shall receive".
How bout Purple Monkey Dishwasher, or "Two, if by Ballbag". Great names for music stores.
The Neil Schon stuff has been up on bananas site for a while now. Very overpriced. Joe satriani has stuff there too, including some very low dollar amps of his. I think I saw an Ibanez practice amp for sale there. They wanted 1700$ for it.

Thought this pic of Neil Schlong was fake until I read the whole article and lawsuit he spearheaded to get this photo off the net. Apparently, an old cell phone of his was stolen and that's how the pic came to be. Gotta give Neil a skosh of props for his selfie skills. Just a tad more down angle on his phone and he would have included the big deuce he deployed in that toilet behind him.
