Bare Knuckle Miracle Man Humbuckers opinions?

Looking for feedback and opinions on Miracle Man pickups. I am thinking of getting some and putting them in my PRS 24. I have heard the sound clips obviously and they seem pretty good anyone got them and wish they hadn't? Were they what you expected? fall short of your expectations? Overall thoughts and opinions on them.
 
I reccommend a cold sweat! amazing pup! and a very good replacment for prs pups
 
MM is supposed to be a better passive remplacement than emgs, never tried 'em on my axe.

Cold Sweat on neck with tone knob is so versatile, you can nail pretty much any tone you want, it's insane.

So far my experience with BKP is good, so i would trust them miracle man :rock:
 
Well can you get more into detail about what sound you want also try the bareknuckle forum there good about picking out a pickup for you also! just email tim!
 
thanks for the replies so far. Yes I guess the obvious thing is that I should spend a bit more time trolling the BKP forums Hadn't thought about the cold sweat pickups at all. Ill have a look around on those as well. More than anything I'm just looking for a change of scenery so to speak. I prefer rock hard rock short of metal (FF - one by one might be a good example) Like most people I think, having a bit of overhead is always nice so I was thinking the miracle man. The sound clip tim has for the miracle man was a real good selling point as well (kinda like Daves HBE clip is about the best selling point I have heard for wanting to do a Friedman mod) I digress. Im just looking for a change to shake things up a bit. If in the end Im not happy with it I can always go back to the original PRS pick ups or try something else.
 
Different beasts but I have a MM bridge in my Blackmachine and a CS set in my rosewood necked Cu24.

The MM is kind of surgical, although that may have a lot to do with the guitar it's in too. Cleans aren't great unless you have a fantastic clean channel on your amp.

The CS set, as recommended by Tim at BKP as a more direct replacement, rule. Especially the bridge which is slightly cooler but a lot more rounded and less wooly then the HFS. I didn't mind the VB but the CS is a definite step up. The set is really versatile - I mainly do the metal thing but they will take anything that you throw at them and do it well. I was mildly disappointed with how my CuRo sounded, stock, but the CS set really cheered me up!

I'm just sorry that I can't compare them in the same guitar.

If you do order from BKP, make sure to tell them if you're using the PRS 5 way rotary switch as this affects how they load the magnets in the neck pickup. ;)

Yes I did mention that too him and he said no problem that he could set it up to reverse the polarity but thanks again for the reminder.
 
I just bought one for my Gibson Explorer.

I honestly can't tell the the difference in the new pickup.
 
What pup did you buy mircale man or cold sweat?
Some guitars react to pickups and other dont to be honest... its not the pickup
 
Ended up getting the miracle man. I was going to do a suhr Aldrich or a miracle man and went with the miracle man I just think it will fit with the PRS mahog a bit better. Have a Suhr with an Aldrich in it thought something for contrast might be good. Just got the pickups in the mail today. so haven't put them in yet.
 
Best pup there is for chunk/chug. Tight low end with strong low-mids emphasis. I love it for high-gain chord work. It's harsher in the treble region than I care for, but that's just a tonal preference and nothing negative about the sound. Of course, your amp and playing style will dictate many things as well.
 
I put one of the two BK pups in. The neck pickup wouldnt fit. the pole screws were too long and hit the wood. I had about 1mm clearance between the pickup and the strings. I kept the original PRS pickup in the neck and just changed out the bridge pickup. It was the bridge pickup after all that I was really after.

Its a major improvement over the stock PRS with out a doubt. When I run a shit load (that's the scientific quantitative term) of gain [xtc red + keeley ts-9 mood plus] it is very prone to getting the "howling" feed back. the low constant feedback sound. rolling off the volume to about 8 or 7 gets rid of it and doesn't seem to affect the tone. I did replace the volume pot with an RS pot as well.

The cleans are much clearer than the stock PRS. It was a constant fight to get out of the mud with the stock pickups and the BKs are much more cleaned up. The gain sounds on the BKs were tight and more towards the low and high ends. Perfect for chug a luging all day. fantastic bottom end but still tight enough that you arent all over the place. its a big contrast to the DA Suhr picks. I like both and have a very different feel depending on the mood im in so overall the BK was the good choice.

Yep, they're awesome pups that do indeed clean up very well. I'm surprised you're getting feedback like that you described since they're double-wax potted and ridiculously quiet/controlled. It's one of the things I love about 'em.
 
Put some foam under the pickup, enough to put a little pressure on the bottom of the pup. I have EMG 81/85 pups in my PRS Custom24 and had the same problem. The foam cured it. Not sure if my PRS is chambered or semi hollow, but the pup was vibrating in the mount cause the feedback.

Yup. I do this with all of my bridge pups. Currently running a BK Warpig in one and it is totally feedback free. :rock:
 
The Miracle Man for my EBMM Petrucci bridge position will be next gear purchase. I hear they work exceptionally well in basswood guitars. Can't wait!

whoa
the miracle man has a lot in common with the 500t, but the difference is still huge
it has a similar punch, output and that low mid roar, but the it's much less middy and WAY clearer, tighter and more articulated
the lead tone is much better and less fizzy
even the cleans are noticeably better

I had emgs, duncans, 500t/496r, miracle man, holy diver, cold sweats and others all in the same guitar (a mij les paul copy)
my favorite for that guitar was definitely the cold sweat set
I'd pick it over the miracle man any day, unless I was playing modern metal only (which the cold sweat also does almost as wonderfully)
I also have a '73 les paul custom with camo nailbombs
I love the Holy Diver, especially for fat middy leads, open chords, cleans (think Jerry Cantrell)
