I really like the demos on the Bare Knuckle website. Any suggestions on which one to try in my SG Standard? The 498T is sorta boring sounding in this guitar.
I'm probably gonna install some light top/heavy bottoms and keep it in Drop C from now on.

Any other suggestions?

I put a motor city detroiter in my sg and it was perfect. Ripping and very clear. Im not fond of the 498's as they turn to mush under gain imo

I know a guy who uses Nailbombs in a RI SG and loves them, though personally I think they'd be too dark for an all mahogany SG. I've had several pairs of Nailbombs and really liked them in Les Pauls. The neck pickup in that set is probably my favorite for high gain. Bridge is nice, but too dark for me and a little more compressed than I'd like. I've also had the Painkillers and those are a better bridge pickup, though they're super high output. Great for low tunings though as they stay very tight and defined.

I LOVE that SG!

I'll probably get ran out of here......however, I tried the Nailbomb, Cold Sweat, and Mule. I like the Gibson 498T better than all of them.

Try 500k pots all around with some quality caps. Run the screws of the 498T slightly lower than flush with the covers. Raise the 498T closer to the strings than normal. Start adjusting from there.

If you ask Tim from BKP, he will suggest to go extreme or low output. He told me that med-hot pickups get muddy and to either go with a Warpig or something vintage-ish like a Mule or a Riff Raff.

That being said, I had a set of Motor City Hot Heads in my faded SG before I sold it and they sounded fantastic.

 I'm on a pickup hunt for mine. Threw down with the stockers and they weren't half bad.
Can't decide on if I want to go all metal or give it some vintage vibe either!

The Detroiter smokes in an all mahogany set neck guitar as does the Garuda.
