Has anybody tried these pick ups? I want to replace the pick ups in my Anderson and I am looking for a hotter pick up with a warm tone to it. Input?????

I've got a set of Rebel Yells in my PRS Custom 22. They sound great but I wouldn't exactly call them warm.
 
I like how the Screamin Demon sounds and reacts but I am looking for a little more bit. I dont want to go to EMG's I would like to stay passive.
 
Seymour Duncan is making some really great high output and high bite stuff right now too and they don't run 9 million per set.
 
I am hooked on BK. There is an immediacy & clarity to their attack that I love

I have two LP's that are loaded with them. One has the Aftermaths and the other Nailbombs. The Aftermaths seem to have more of a mid honk - nothing bad though. The Nailbombs really cover a wide spectrum.
 
Bare Knuckle are over priced and over hyped.
I've tried and installed many sets for customers and never been impressed.
I also notice that many of these same customers are constantly changing their pickups and never seem happy with Bare Knuckles for long.

in my Anderson, due to his unusually narrow string spacing, I've got a Dimarzio Fast Track 1 in the middle and a Satch Track in the neck. ( Recently gone back to Anderson H2+ in the bridge ) and I'm very settled on this set up.
I agree that the H3 is a great rock pickup but too hot for my needs.
 
they are priced reasonably, their open coil sets cost similar to any other brands, maybe slightly more. lot of of custom covers is nice option.

I have Painkiller bridge and VHII neck set in my guitar -

Painkiller is very powerful, mid focused pickup. Excellent for rhythm playing in dark sounding low tuned guitars. Pinch harmonics just jump out of the guitar. But I like it also for leads, I found that leads with PK cut through band mix very well. With coil tap it reminds me Piledriver in some ways, something I call "country metal", haha. Cleans are decent, too. Especially with darker sounding clean channel.

VHII is my absolute favorite for neck position. Smooth leads, very full, round tone. I can't imagine that something can beat this pickup for cleans. With coil tap it's just HEAVEN for cleans.

Both pickups are very clear sounding and what I love about this combination is that I can use just one dirty channel of an amp and make clean tone from heavy rhythm sound by flipping pickup switch to neck pickup with coil tap, roll of volume, even without turning of my TS pedal in front of an amp.
 
Save yourself some money and go with either a full shred, JB, or Distortion from Duncan.
 
I have a set of BKP Warpigs in a guitar. Really awesome. It's my favorite sounding guitar right now. I bought them used for half price. Check the member classified page on this site if you decide to get some.

To each their own... You can buy them through retailers in the US for a lot less than going direct to the UK. Just sayin'...

I'm an addict for BKP, and Tim's recommendations have never done me wrong. Full sets of the following:
Mules
RiffRaffs
Emeralds
BlackDogs
Miracle Mans
PainKillers
Holy Divers
Nailbombs

And I've not switched any of them out once they were installed.

Just sayin'...

Last time I tried them Tim recommended his Patent Applied For singles for my Anderson.
They were the most toneless pickups I've ever heard.
He couldn't have been more wrong.
 
I've also yet to be uber impressed with BKPs. Different strokes I guess...
 
I have had two different sets. The Rebel Yells and the Nailbombs (ceramic). I was not impressed at all with them. Do yourself a fave and check out Suhr pickups. I love the SSH+ and the Aldrich.
