looking for a bit of help pairing a guitar with a pickup. I have an ESP M1 NTB, which is a single pickup super-strat style guitar. The body is alder and it is a maple neck-thru construction with an ebony board. The guitar is pretty bright. I just dropped a Cold Sweat into it and it seems to be adding to the brightness of the guitar. I am looking to play Thrash and Death Metal with said guitar. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Email Tim at Bare Knuckles and describe your rig and what you want out of it. His suggestion to me nailed it. Have a guitar that is inherently bright and I wanted to fatten it up a bit without moving to something super high output that would compress too much with a Diezel. He recommended the Holy Diver and it did exactly what I was hoping for. But I play AiC, Soundgarden, etc. hard rock, not metal, so I'm not sure the Holy Diver would do it for you because I'm just not familiar with what people want out of modern metal tones.

Had a warpig and a nailbomb in my m1 I really liked the warpig in it especially for faster more technical stuff super aggressive and awesome sounding the nailbomb was in their first and it sounded great as well A little looser but they really made it scream

ceramic warpig...im putting one in a swamp ash guitar im having built at the moment. The holy diver would be awesome just not as brutal and modern sounding.

I just got this Mayones with Aftermath pick ups in it. I am quite pleased with them running through the Diezel. Moderate output, fat tone and pretty articulate. Certainly swings to the modern side though.

I have 2 M-1's.

Ceramic Warpigs 100%.

I've tried others, but only the WARPIG remains.

In's in the Black M-1 I am playing in most of my videos lately...for reference.

I have Nailbombs in my Jackson DK1, and it is way too bright. I bought Holy Divers to replace them.

I have warpigs in a couple of guitars. I like pretty much everything about em. I think some people are a little leery of using them because they're supposed to be the most metal pickup they make. But they're actually quite versatile. They also clean up really well with the volume knob. Especially when you coil split em. And they aren't quite as potent when you lower them away from the strings a bit more than usual. Might be worth a shot for helping with your brightness issues.

I didn't like the Warpig at all. I tried it in a few mahogany bodied guitars - too dark and brittle - and a Jackson SL2H - too bright.

I got a Nailbomb after that and, suffice to say, I now have three Nailbomb bridge pickups.

I have an M1 and two M-IIs. I have EMGs in one M-II and the EMG 85 in the M-I. I really like this combination. The other M-II has a Duncan Full Shred and a Jazz. I was considering swapping out the M-I to a Full Shred too.

The Nailbomb is a great pickup, but find myself reaching for the Full Shred loaded guitars more... I just think I prefer the pickup... but if it has to be BKP, go for the Nailbomb is my $0.02
