Just picked up a 27" baritone.

I plan to use it in C/Drop B or B/Drop A.

On my 25.5 guitars, I use 50/11in standard/Drop D.

What gauge strings would you reccomend to give me a similar tension feel?

Thanks!
T

I like 62/10 for my baritone in drop B, it gives me the tightness i need for really fast riffs. But it's a big difference in tension between C, B & A on the big string.

In drop C, go with EB Power Slinky. Works great. When you tune lower (drop B / A), I prefer Boomers 10 -52 with the wound 3rd.

I have a fairly light touch with faster stuff so use light gauges. I know most think it's silly, but I use 11-54 in c-standard/ drop A# 25.5 scale.

Man I just got the KM7 and bout whatever the Ernie Ball 10’s set. I don’t like super heavy strings. Even for extended scale.

Thanks guys.

I tend to be pretty heavy handed, which works for my preferred style of music (heavy/thrashy rhythm), which is why I use such heavy strings for standard tuning.

Just looking for similar feel for the baritone.

Started out using 46's in standard many years ago, but switched to heavier gauge strings about 15 years ago and can't see going back. With that said, I certainly understand why someone whomplays with more finesse would want lighter strings.

Hey Tony...haven't seen you for a while. Nothing to contribute other than to just say hi brother.

Thanks man!

I haven't had much time to spend on the boards for a while.

Lots of kids stuff, lots of work and a little chugga chugga on my guitars when I have time!
