I know you love Randall stuff, so why not get a used XL 412 with V30's? I only got about $500 for mine when I sold it a few years ago. Not sure what they go for used now though, but at that price it's a steal.

just feeling around, I sold off a bass to get a "good" cab, but my budget is $500 shipped.

silicone sealed MDF cabs. Supposed to have a huge low end. The MDF is enough to turn me away.

yeah, i think i'm the only one around here with one. in all honesty, sometimes i dig it and other times i don't. i've never really tried my rig with anything else. my other guitarist has an avatar with v30's but i've been too lazy lately to a/b them.

it's a darker cab. i think it's cuz the massive bottom end. mdf (which is a sin in most circles) and it's rear loaded (yet another sin). i think it sounds good but like i said, i've yet to try anything else. i mostly bought it cuz it was cheap and local (when i lived in san diego)...also, shawn is an awesome guy and easy to deal with.

one MAJOR drawback for me...they only have 2 inch casters...wimpy, wimpy, wimpy...i've gone thru 2 sets of them already. next time they go, i'm gonna mount some 4 inchers on there instead. i suppose for the bedroom guys, it wouldn't be an issue but for all you giggers...buy new casters. they're cheap and easy to install.

i think shawn gets on here from time to time. hjopefully he don't think i'm rippin' his gear.
all in all, aside from avatar's, you ain't gonna get much better for this cheap...unless it's used i guess.
