Why not have someone local fix it?

There are plenty of decent amps tech here in the UK

There arent any magic tricks inside those amps or any other amp.

Anyone worth their salt would be bale to fix it.

Yep that's my thought on it too but was wondering if it affects any warranties or what not but i am sending a email to Dave friedman to see if there's any shed of light to be had on it.

Surely that doesnt matter anyway as you're reluctant to send it back to the US anyway?

I wouldn't get someone here to take a look. Probably nothing major. Check fuses?

Hold on a minute? Who did you buy this amp from?? I never heard anything about it i dont think. 2nd of all it should have never gone out in a Cameron box. I use 2 " thick corners with a very thick box. Same as Suhr uses and it's bogners packaging guy. Please let me know we can take care of any problem you have.

I think we would all like to know what vendor you purchased the amp from. It is relevant to our collective interests........

Yes, I agree!!!

A brand new Friedman shipped in a Cameron box? WTF? Doesn't make any sense.

I spent a ton of money to have a company design the packaging solution for my amps. They assure me that my boxes could take a 50G hit and leave the amp intact inside the box. Now I don't know about that, but my packaging is state of the art right now. My amps do not ship double-boxed. No manufacturers I know do. There is no need in my case as the amp is surrounded by multi-inch thick high impact materials inside the box. Also, I don't insure amps I ship and I don't know many manufacturers that do. It is a waste of money because the shippers will do everything in their power to NOT pay a claim. This is why I invested in high quality packaging built FOR my amp. If one gets damaged (and eventually some shipper will figure out a way to damage one), the buyer will get another amp shipped and I'll deal with the damaged amp. No other way to deal with these things...

Of course, most people won't even think of dealing with me because of all the boutique horror stories, regardless of what I've done with shipping or my ship from stock business model. Oh we'll, nothing I can do about that...

It does narrow it down a little, but assumption is at the root of all error. I want the truth.....

Not true Steve...

I give you props for selling out of stock all the time.

You just need some Lay It Down and Panama vids bro!

Obie took my money for a few Cherry Bombs. Nothing personal.

Please send the email to racksystems@yahoo.com. I want to get to the bottom of this. I have not seen a email yet. I personally will make sure you are taken care of. All of our boxes are thick double wall construction with 2" thick corners. Also our production is now moving to California so I can tightly oversee it.

Engl, as much as I dislike the company overall, ships amps in nothing but a thick cardboard box, with a 3 inch wall of foam surrounding the amp tightly. No bubble wrap, no stupid kernels. I believe that's the best way to go for single box shipping

I agree, double-boxing is not necessary, provided the box is of an appropriate burst strength and the internal packing job is also appropriate. It sounds like you're ok in both regards.

Sounds like the business practice we all expect from an amp vendor/builder. Unfortunately, not all vendors and builders have the same approach/scruples as you, Steve.

An amp arriving to a customer damaged IS the vendor's/builder's responsibility if they charged the customer for shipping. By charging a customer for shipping, the vendor/builder is the party ultimately entering into a contract with the shipping company. As such, they are the one taking on all responsibilities associated with the shipment and getting the product to the customer in brand new condition. If they choose to not insure the package for whatever reason, that's their choice and their risk to bear.

Indeed, but most companies (not just music related ones) will try to fuck over a customer because:

A- They don't think the customer knows the law and its rights
B- They assume the customer will not go through with all the trouble needed to get his due

Smal business or large companies, it doesn't matter. They will try to have their way with you. Always be on your guard.

Brickford needs to contact Dave first. Let's see what happened. I wonder who he originally bought it from, paying paypal gift and it shipping in a Cameron box doesn't sound like Friedman.

Brickford, can you post pictures?
