BE100...It really is that good.

Had my BE100 for almost a month now, it really is as good as the hype......way better actually. Have the newest one with the full clean channel.....every channel is awesome.....I think it's understated how awesome the full clean channel is, some beautiful clean sounds are in there if you're after pure clean sounds. Initially I was wanting some more low end punch and thought it was my speaker choice/cab....but after adjusting my setup and some tweaks it's perfect for me with these speakers/cab..... It's amazing what a few setup tweaks can do.

There's more than enough gain on tap to do very heavy styles and that's without the sat switch(which also sounds great)......Every switch setting does something useful and great sounding....I really love the C45 and voice switch options and leave them on. The feel of this amp is incredible.....I love both the be and hbe modes. The tone controls on this amp are centered so well.....you can get cut without harshness, the mid is right where it seems like it should be....nice chunk in the low end but it's tight without being stiff

Setup is the be100 through a CAA/Suhr 4x12 with blueframe 25watt scumback m75s and the rack

I was running a dual amp setup to get all the sounds I needed....Now all I need Is the BE100......the only thing I'm worried about now Is how I can take care of it so I'll never have to be without it :rock:

Dave, amazing amp and thanks for answering my speaker questions the other day....Hope you guys stick around for a long time. The search is over, and it was worth every penny.
 
I've had mine a couple months now and my experience with it pretty much mirrors yours, I was amazed at how good the Clean channel sounded and the amp via the Sat switch and HBE boost/channel has more gain than I'll ever need contrary to some opinions I've heard on other sites.
 
Agreed, really how much percieved gain an amp has sometimes can depend on how you have the tone controls set. There's more than enough gain here. Was hard to contain my excitement when I posted my review, so please excuse the excessive gushing. I think I read it said somewhere that the be is a soulful amp, and that's my experience....it is a soulful tone machine. Set, forget and just play.
 
100% right fellas. I have only had mine for one week and I seem to find newer and even different tones than I did before. It's like several modded Plexi's in one with flawless articulation and sweet "soulful" tones. My favorite so far is the BE channel with most everything around 1:00 except bass a little higher, presence around 11:30, loop on and Knob used as volume with front master at noon. Keeping that front master at noon. If your using effects in the loop, it does sound best to me to keep Master at noon and use the Effects Return on back as the volume knob.

There is one thing that surprised me though when I received the amp, the first two preamp tubes (V1-2) were HG JJ's. I thought Dave hated JJ preamp tubes. But I tired for a bit and still sounded amazing of course, but luckily I had a few Tung-Sol 12ax7's and swapped them JJ's out and I like the tone much better with the TungSols and I'm sure the Sino 12ax7B Chinese tubes sound good in V1-2. Oh and the rest of the tubes were Chinese 12ax7Bs and power tubes are ARS JJ/Tesla labeled with 55 on top of tube and 36 written near baseplate of first tube and 37 on the 3rd tube.

But yea this amp has killed anything I've compared it with so far and well worth the price, no bull.
 
Cool, that's some interesting info(numbers marked on the pa tubes)......My suhr and splawn amps have numbers written on the pa tubes so I could order tubes direct from them with the right ratings so biasing would not be as necessary.....I wondering is this is the same thing from Friedman?

Yea its the same concept. They are from ARS so just have to tell them they are for a Friedman and give them the same number.

Yeah finding non microphonic preamp tubes is a problem. We have been experimenting with that. Tungsols sound good but are inconsistent the jj tubes seem to work well but I am not totally sold. It's a real problem for me. We shall see.
 
I use and love the Tung Sol in V1 & V2 of both my BE & SS. For the Smallbox it's ARS Chinese in all three spots. :rock:
 
Never tried them but have been told that the new mullard cv4004 reissue sounds similar to a tungsol but even lower on microphonics.
