I have a 2015 BE100 coming in. I am interested in the caps and voltage switch. Not sure about the gain structure but maybe. What would the cost be and what's the approximate tournaroun?

Thank you,
Ron

Good decision on doing those updates. I would strongly recommend the gain structure switch in addition. Adds a great deal of versatility to the amp. For the cost, there's no reason not to do it.

I had Dave do all those mods and it's pretty amazing. My BE is actually back at his shop getting a quad of the newer TAD el34b-str's installed and biased.

I won't quote prices on the board, but Dave's prices have always been very, very fair.

RP, didn't you also do the SS100 clean? I played an SS100 the other day and the clean is gorgeous!

I sure did... I wanted that blackface Fender clean tone. I like it a lot better than the standard BE clean.

Dave installed the SS100 Clean Channel Conversion/Synergy Caps/Gain Structure and I can definitely say my BE100 sounds "wonderful" worth the money!! What impressed me was how much the Notes were more defined and "Punchier" with the adjustment to the "Negative Feedback" and the other adjustments made a big difference, I noticed everything when "Recording" listening to the playback the detail to the notes, also a little more aggressive, and I can hear this "vintage" high-gain that I love. The Clean Channel has a lot more Width & Tone "Very Nice" with everything the whole amp is more versatile and Sounds Great. Dave is awesome to work with, truly "Professional".

Man with everybody getting their BE100 updated I sure hope Dave still does these updates in the future cause I'm having to wait a few more months to send mine in. The SS100 cleans really are so much better I think with a clearer bass and sparkly highs. Really looking forward to the gain S switch. If the S switch is anything like the DS Mini then the BE100 should have some great classic rock and old school Plexi vibes.

Anybody like and use the lower gain settings more often than the higher gain on the BE100 S switch update?

I am almost always in the "mid gain" setting on the switch. More articulate and clear for me. Still plenty of gain.

Hay Adam, I really like the various Lower Gain settings from the "Structure Switch" as much as the higher gain, depending on the song its nice to have that option. it was a pleasure to work with Dave as he went out of his way to offer me a number of options and also he did what he could do to meet my recording commitments (date & time). Once the modifications were completed, I got my amp back fast! in fact FedEx was scheduled for delivery on a Friday, and all of a sudden they changed it to Thursday! That one day early was awesome because the amp went right to rehearsal and I can hear the amp in a live band setting before recording sessions, that's a big deal for me and it spoke loudly of Dave's love of "His Amps" and his commitment to musicians.

Also the Clean Channel conversion from BE100 to SS100 was worth it for me, I'm more of a "Fender-Clean" fan than Vox, but the standard BE Clean is still wonderful! The SS Clean I feel is more versatile, wider and fuller with more depth, the "Three-way Bright Options L/C/R is very useful and in the studio, subtle changes can make big differences.

The BE100 is an amazing instrument.

Is there a list somewhere of all the options/mods for the BE100???

That's awesome glad to hear it. The more Fendery SS100 Clean mod sounds exactly what I'd like more, especially if there is more sparkly highs and width to it.

Do you think the S Switch changes the tone in different modes or is it a straight gain cut? My Mini Shirley does have a slight tone change with the switch. Glad to hear it sounds great in the band mix, even though I've always been super happy with it stock I've always thought the lower gain songs could be better. Thanks for the lowdown.

Adam, Dave said it was gain reduction but with that the response has changed, which i really like! It's different than just lower the gain control, to me it offers options that is great during sessions, like if you want gain but a "slightly pushed" for blues or a sweet edge to a solo. This is my experience so far, it's great!

Gtrs, I don't know of a list other than all of the versions of Marsha & BE100, I have also seen an "Old & New" switch, changing the type of gain? Call or email Dave and ask him, is the best way to go.

Thanks man....my old guitar teacher played a BE100 and raved about it.
So it's been sitting in the back of my mind for a little while now.

Got my BE back from Dave with the TAD power tubes...

This thing absolutely kills now. 2016 circuit updates plus the TAD's is just unbelievable. Never thought this amp could get better but it is night and day. So much more clarity, punch, less compressed. Still my #1 amp and don't see that changing...

I'll do my best to get something up by the weekend. All I really have is a Zoom iPhone mic, but I'll certainly try to capture it...

Yes, I had the caps changed about 8 months ago, before it was an actual production change. Mine are labeled "Sozo", but are the exact same caps as the Synergy Royal Mustards. They just changed the name prior to the production change. I did all my mods in stages. I actually had the gain structure switch done over a year ago.

So as of now, I have full 2016 spec, plus the SS100 clean channel and a Phil-X style high/ low voltage switch. It's the perfect amp.

Sounds very compelling. I am now considering sending mine in to have these changes made to it. I think I would like them a lot.

I am now considering sending mine too for all the updates and do all this mods to my amp. Also saw a YT clip from japan with a Old/New Switch..
