Looking for a beater guitar for gig's as my les paul has been taking a toll on my back and upper fret access is not as comfortable as id want it to be...when im not sitting down, Looking for a super strat type price range from 500-1000$
Any suggestions?

Production model Charvel. Better yet, build your own if you're up to it...Musikraft, Warmoth, etc.

Yea ive been thinking about the warmoth build for awhile :)
If they sold san dimas models with rosewood necks id be all over it!
I never was a fan of maple

Check out some Schecters.

BTW, I'm getting one in shortly, I never owned one, but they fit within that price range.

I purchased a new Ibanez Iceman for this purpose. If you don't hate Ibanez, they have a few strat-like guitars with different pickups / configurations many under $1000.

Used to owna one actually! I liked that guitar from what i remember i think the warmoth will be the best bet as i can pick out everything to my specifications! like... a rosewood neck with ebony fretboard!

About ibanez the one i was looking at they dont make anymore the mahogany body one i think rga121?

Dude, if you build it right, and have it setup well, your "beater" guitar just may become your new #1.

I love love LOVE my Warmoths.

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm kinda over off-the-rack guitars at this point in time. I've got my Les Paul, I've got a real Tele, and a Real Strat. Everything else I built, and I play those ALOT more than the other ones.

They're my main gigging guitars.

Yea I know what i want i posted awhile back with the specs i wanted
Body:
Mahogany
Redwood Top
Neck:
Rosewood
Ebony fretboard

Would come out to 1300$

I just finished my first build, and I'm amazed at how well it turned out (blind luck, no doubt). It's a fun process, and if you shop around, the price can't be beat.

There's a mahogany oiled body version, RG321MH, but they have so many models they may have more? I haven't looked at 'em all since I just wanted the Iceman in white. Be sure to read the fine print on the finishes as they don't show all the color options on this page:

Nicely done!

Ha its all good! the RGA 121 looks like a good way to go i love the clear satin finish:
Im just scared of the wizard neck since im so used to a thick les paul neck, wizard necks are insanely thin right?

The wizard necks are thin.

Go Warmoth, they can build what you want. They have many neck carves, wizard thin, '59 roundback, wolfgang, SRV, clapton, boat, V, etc,

Yea ,im looking for a neck thats in between a standard thin neck and a LP neck i was thinking maybe the 59 roundback

OLP MusicMan Axis copies have GREAT necks and excellent fretwork.
They can be found for around 150 used.
Install an EMG or some pro pickup and you're good to go.

RGA121 and RGA321 models are rock solid have no fear about bring them on the road. Also, their necks are 1mm thicker and are not of 1 piece contruction for better neck stability.

There is also a Jackson Snakeskin graphic Soloist on ebay right now that may be had for about $1K. I'd look into that one. I have one an highly recommend Jacksons (as well as Japanese Ibanez models--I have an RGA321).

Buy a Switch Guitar off e-Bay for $150. 100% plastic - impervious. Weighs like a Les Paul. Single mold makes it like a neck-through. I have a Wild I with a DiMarzio BLuesbucker. Sounds good. Plays well. I leave it at rehearsal andu se it on outdoor gigs. Our bass player just picked up a Switch bass as a beater.
