Been offered a Bad Cat Hot Cat 15 - looking for experiences

The Hot Cat 30 I had was fantastic. Unreal cleans and a nice thick, juicy distortion channel. Would have kept it if it would've had a line out! The newer ones have them I think.

So yours had EL34's, the Bad Cat 15 has EL84's.

Wonder what the main differences would be??

Not too sure, I'm not too experienced with el84's but I've heard their a little more compressed. Do you have chance to jam on it?

Yeah, I will. :)

But I was thinking if it was possible to put EL34's in it instead. But I can't find any info on it. :aww:

^ nope EL34's and EL84's are not interchangable...Completely different tubes...EL84 will be brighter and more compressed with less bass then an EL34 and less output...

The EL84's do not always have less bass than EL34's. They are more compressed, but my EL84 Peavey Classic 50 has more bass than my 100 watt Quick Rod and my JCM 800.

I've only played the 30, and my experience was similar to tfridgen's.

Doesn't sound like you have a choice but I'd say the 30 is better. I'm not a big fan of EL84 amps.

Here is the one I played. I took a picture of it I liked it so much

oh and you gotta love the lit up logo

The Bad Cat Hot Cat 15 is bad ass. Awesome cleans and versatile dirt. Built like a tank. What kind of stuff are you playing?
