But I gotta say it again.

The new Deftones fkn RIPS!!!

Mojo :2thumbsup:

Man, I kinda fell out of love with the deftones after White Pony. But I gotta say, this latest album SLAYS!! I haven't had anything else on in my car since it came out. The last album was a return to form, but this one jacks it up to a whole other level!

Also, I know Stephen Carpenter has switched to the Axe-fx. It seems like it's all over the new album (intros and interludes). Wonder if he used any of the amp modelling as well?

He used the A2 exclusively on the this CD. Got some assistance from Misha (Bulb) and a couple cats at Fractal. I think he used it for absolutely everything - amps, cabs, FX - the whole "modeling" enchilada.

Glad you're diggin' it too. The opening song tears today's usual music a new arhoolie :D

Cliff confirmed that the new album is 100% Axe-Fx II.

Amps, effects, cabs.

Yup awesome stuff, it's been in the CD changer in my Pilot since it came out. I think I've listened to it front to back over 20 times now.

I must agree... I wasn't expecting it to be... But dam it its good...

I agree! This album is phenomenal. Same, I lost interest after White Pony. But this album is fantastic!

Rosemary into Goon Squad is just a deadly set up. Love this CD front-to-fkn-back!!

And as a side-post... This CD is probably going to be the impetus for me to truly and fully attempt to immerse myself in the A2 100% utterly and completely. I've got to get this lil' black box to where I know it'll get me. But there's an analog tube driven umbilical cord that's constantly holding me back.

Steve. Thanks for your updates to date... You and Steph have been very influential on my most recent headspace regarding the Axe-II.

Use what inspires you mate, be it analog or digital !!!

Have to check out this cd

Truth. And you're both part of the FOGS team I see. Film On Green Screen. Part of that massive populous of Axe owners who've never pulled that oversized bit of cellophane off their LCD screens. Anyone else notice this? Axes all over the globe, 98% of them still have this plastic film on their screens - too funny.

You're all good in my books Gents!

Cheers,
Mojo

i dont take the lcd plastic film off ANYTHING i own if i can help it!

Fuckin' loving this album. I also like Saturday Night Wrist and Diamond Eyes post-White Pony, but this is probably the best since. 8 string guitars, though...seems like overkill. I like Animals As Leaders and they use 8 strings, but there's no bass player in that band.

Nigel Tufnel syndrome - 8 is one more than 7.

Steph throws down the heavies - and it's fine. Agreed though, Tosin knows how to USE all 8 strings completely. But hey, whatever floats Steph's boat, he's solid in my books. I like that cat - chill to the max.

Glad you guys are digging it. It's a righteous release.

One Love for Chi!!
