Been watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine lately...

I'm no Trekkie, but I really loved the original series. Never got into Voyager or Enterprise. TNG was always good for reruns but I found it a little stale sometimes.

So this week I decided to get the first couple seasons of DS9, the show I was least familiar with in the Trek universe.

Man this show rocks!

It's got drama, action, character development, and a big black guy who runs shit. What could be better?

I just finished the second season and I'm hooked now. I'm trying to get the third one ASAP!

Any Trekkies out there who are willing to admit it? :cheer:

I'm an admitted Trek fan, but I always found it hard to get into DS9 when Babylon 5 was around the same time, and it always seemed as if the DS9 writers were directly ripping off B5... but I will say that I've had the urge to watch DS9 again lately

I just recently watched The Undiscovered Country again, and it's still a fucking sweet movie

I love Star Trek. I just watched 4 hours of TNG and Voyager today. I never got into DS9 though, but to be fair I never really gave it a chance.

The next generation was IT for me. I used to watch that show religiously!!! That was the last show that I used to actually pay attention to. Now I can't be bothered to watch TV.

I never really watched it because the reruns didn't seem to last too long. I liked TNG and used to watch it every night. I saw a decent amount and the end of Voyager, but I didn't really like it too much. TNG had better developed characters and it was funnier, like the original series. Doing TNG, Deep Space 9, AND Voyager seemed to be overkill.

I watched Enterprise for a little bit when it started up, but that seemed like the same old thing, too, even though it was a totally different setting than the rest. The crew seemed too much like a rehash of the original, and the show was just done too similarly to the last 3.

DS9 is my fav of all of them.
Liz is into Voyager, I'm just into Jerry Ryan...lol

By far teh hottest chick in Star Trek...Jolene Blaylock. Played the vulcan on Enterprise.


I watched TNG all the time...my favorite scene is when Picard draws the smilie face on a warp-coil cloud.

I thought Voyager started with a great premise but I think they screwed up the potential. All this space and interesting stuff to explore, and the writers just kinda wrote them into boring situations. Plus, you knew they were eventually getting back so there wasn't much drama.

Also, I didn't find the characters as interesting as the other series.

DS9 for me has the factor of story arcs, consequences for characters (so it's not just episode after episode of situational things that are resolved in 40 minutes, though there is still a lot of that) and just generally more interesting, imperfect characters. Every one of them has flaws and they're believable.

I wanna find out more about the Dominion though! I have Season 4 on my comp but I'm still having problems getting Season 3.

i was into voyager for aLONG time,i just finished all 4 seasons of Enterprise, pretty good but couldnt figureout why i only lasted 4 season....it was alot better show then i thought at first. yes Jolene Blalock is by far the hottest trek char EVER!!!!!!

DS9 rocks. Just wait till you get to the Jem Hadar and the great War. EVeryone gets involved in the war, the Romulans, Klingons, even the Breen.

Some of my favorite Trek episodes ever are from DS9. They did one where they went back in time to the Trouble For Tribbles episode. That was BRILLIANT.

They bring in Q for a few episodes which was pretty cool.

They introduce a Riker clone.

And yes the Defiant rocks. It would rip the Millenium Falcon a new ass.

Oh just wait. The Jem Hadar are the badasses of the Dominion. They are basically engineered to fight and they are all drug addicts. Sorta like a Klingon on crack.

Of all the aliens i like the Vorlorns and their ships from Bablyon 5. I watched DS9 and Bablyon 5 when they were both airing. I love those massive beams that Capital ships have, and they have a few ships called Planet Killers, which blow up planets, what a suprise!
