So I finally picked up a Randall RD100 head. Had a 5 watter when they first came out and really liked it. Brought it home and checked the bias and adjusted. It was running a bit cold. Has two bias pots for the inner and outer pair. Cool. Very cool amp. The built in boost sounds better than any built in boost I've heard before. It does sound a bit dark at low levels but running the treble and presence higher fixes that or engaging the built in boost. You can turn the gain all the way up and it does not get flubby. I usually have the gain at two O'clock on both gain channels.

Couple of quick clips. All guitars are completely raw. No eq or anything. Just a left and right track.

A couple more in higher tuning.

New. Just some chuggin chords and clean channel. Starts with OD1 boost off and then on. Then Clean channel and finally OD2 boost off and then on. All tone controls at noon.

Nice amp man, Randall knows how to make em. You can't go wrong with any of them. Those clips sound epic, real chunky rhythms love the bark on the sustains. Rock on bro

HNAD :rawk:

Is that first clip a variant of Disturbed's Indestructible? Sick.

sounds great on the higher tunings to my ears! Oh the white VTM......

Sounds really good. Dig it. Nice job on the playing and recording. Yeah, that VTM looks nice in that headshell. Is that a VTM era cab? I had one a long time ago with an old Butcher head and that was a cool setup. Some of those cabs had the Celestion 65's in them. Actually, I can tell those aren't 65's . Maybe that's a 5150 cab? Sorry ive obviously had too much coffee!

Funny you mention that. I feel the same way. It handles low tunings just fine, but to my ears it really shines at drop D/C#. DIdn't you have a RD45? That's the one I really had been wanting but this 100 watter popped up first. OD1 and OD2 are different enough for me to use both but I mainly use OD1 with boost on.

Thanks. The Peavey cab is a 5150 cab. I have two V30's on the bottom though. I have two VTM cabs in my garage that came with the Celestion 85's although they are empty now.

Sweet clips! HNAD. I really dig Mike's designs for Randall. I'm still shocked they ended their relationship. These amps kick ass.

Nice man. My RD20 really woke up when I put a Tung Sol in V1 and a LPS in the PI. I'd play with some tubes, it definitely has favorites.

Sounds a little bit like the Thrasher I like the clip :)

Still have not had a chance to play any of the other models. Really would like to try the Thrasher or 50 watt Thrasher. Believe it or not, I am pretty interested in the EOD 88. Of course if I liked it enough to buy one (used) first thing I'd do is take a can of spray paint to it and build a new headshell that is not red.
