Hey Guys,
Christmas came a little early for me, I picked up this guitar (yes I'm using his original add pics because all I have is a camera phone... hope he doesn't mind haha) from Shawn, Scuba200ft - really cool guy and and absolutely mental fucking insane guitar.
This is a custom shop PT(telecaster) from Schecter, it's got stainless steel frets, monstertone pick ups push pull coil tap for both pickups with the tone pot, and a really great treble bleed circuit, and yes I removed the frumpy ass plastic neck plate guard, I'm going to play the holy shit out of this guitar so I quite frankly don't have any notions that the guitar is going to stay pretty anyways and I'd rather have the thing be as resonant as possible.
I've got to say I'm incredibly blown away by this guitar, from the fret job, to the neck, to the finish, to every single piece and attention to detail it's fantastic. Originally I thought it was from 2004, but when I took off the neck last night to remove the neck plate cushion it was actually labeled 2002, so it's an 8 year old axe, you'd never know it, it literally looks like it's never been out of the case. As far as I know now there is literally zero material on this guitar made from plastic aside from the control cavity cover, even the neck pickup ring is metal, along with the bridge/bridge pickup ring of course. It's got really cool colored compensated sperzel locking tuners as well. The control cavity is completely shielded even on the inside of the cavity cover. The finish on this thing is fantastic, it's very thin and I can't tell if it's nitro or poly to be honest, it's thin enough that in the light you can every so slightly see the wood grain underneath the clear, when I had the neck off honestly the finish seemed almost paper thin, which is great by me. This guitar sustains longer than any other I've played, and I've got some incredible guitars... I think it has to do with the stainless steel frets, they just seem to transfer energy better possibly? As far as whether or not stainless sound different, whatever stainless they used for these does not in anyway sound different in a bad way, just more solid if anything else, smoother vibrato and longer sustain, this stuff isn't significantly brighter and doesn't detract from the sound of the instrument in any fashion, by far any downside (I can't find it) would be far far out weighed by all the positives!
This neck is fantastic, especially for my large hands, it's a maple neck with a maple board, but it's the only maple guitar I've ever played where it doesn't get sticky and the other thing that impresses me, while it's tight and articulate it's still warm and not harsh like I feel a lot of maple boards can sound. The neck is just super rock solid and plays soooo fast, it's just an all over incredible guitar.
Got to thank Shawn, great guy to deal with, real pleasure and in my opinion I really got a killer deal on this guitar!!!
Let me know what you guys think! I'll try and put up some vids in a little while, I'm still adjusting to neck radius a bit, but I'm starting to fly pretty easily across it.

P.S. Does anyone know anything about these Monster Tone pickups, they are obviously Anderson by design and sound really great, they split incredibly incredibly well too!
