Had these two RG's for a few months now, but only just gotten around to posting a NGD for them. I've been waiting for some Motor City pickups to arrive before posting about them. But after seeing a couple other Ibanez threads, I couldn't help myself.

This RG652 Prestige is one of my fave guitars. Plays really slick and sounds great unplugged. Very balanced but resonant. It's staying in E Standard/Drop D. There's a Motor City Hot Head/2nd Degree Black Belt pickup combo on order for it. Both pickups will have gold covers with black screws.

And this RG657 Prestige is perfect for downtuning. It's got a punchy tone with percussive bass response. It's hopefully getting a Motor City HellBaby bridge to go with the WCR Godwood in the neck. Just need to convince my friend to sell me his HellBaby bridge pickups he's had sitting around in his spares drawer for years. The guitar currently has a WCR Murkat in the bridge, but it's not quite the tone I'm after for this guitar.

I have 2nd Degree Blackbelts in My Les Paul Classic. Those pickups absolutely kickass!

Nice. The hothead is definitely the best pickup I've ever had. Have one in my Charvel and will never be swapped.

Yeah I agree. I had a set of 2DBB's in an Edwards LP. That was one killer tone combination. Especially the neck model! Currently I'm having a stint with high-output pickups. Looking forward to comparing Wade's Solution bridge and discontinued HellBaby bridge to my Wagner IronMan sets. But the HH/2DBB set should tide me over for those days when I want to take it down a notch. :)

One of my fave pickups also. It'll be nice to have one back in the stable. I had a HotHead set in Zebra that I couldn't really use any more due to the black and creme bobbins not suiting any of my guitars. Plus they were 2 Con wire. I much prefer 4 Con for splitting and parallel options.
