Gassing HARD! And I mean HARD!!! For a Bernie Rico.... Not sure if it would be a 6 or 7 string, but I know it would/will be a Jekyll with a Floyd. Pretty much got the cash for a used one right now, and get this..... my wife is acually TELLING me to get a new guitar!! :scared:    Just a matter of finding the right one now and being able to drop the coin without feeling guilty, like I usually do, and end up not buying something... :aww:

Anyway, please post up pics of your Bernie Ricos!! And include any thoughts, experiences, concerns, etc, etc if you wouldn't mind. I might have to take some GAS-X after a while here.... :D

one of these bad boys is mine...

the man himself. and the guitar on the left is honestly one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I think that's my next color choice.

I just wish he would buy back BC Rich so I could once again custom order a Mockingbird with confidence. Right now that company won't even tell you who is building their custom shop guitars and they are way overpriced in a lot of cases.

Here's mine. 2005 Vixen with non standard 25" scale and eastern hardrock maple top. Can't say enough good things about it. I've had a few other high end boutique guitars (Anderson, Bakers) which were great in their own right but I feel the Rico Jrs are a step above.

Simply put, they are super vibrant and ring out extremely strong. Neck throughs have a reputation of being constricted and small sounding, something I've experienced over and over with some Jackson and ESP neckthroughs. Not the case with Rico Jrs. They are alive, fat and warm but very articulate and biting all at the same time. Thats all I need in a guitar and they deliver those traits consistantly. And the frets feel like molten glass.

Most of the body shapes are extreme metal oriented, but he also has several super strat variations and classy single cutaway designs available as well.

Get in line for the Gas-X. I've got a Black Friday Hesperian coming one of these days.........27 fret neck thru baby...

Sheesh I just posted this not long ago. You will not be disappointed with a Rico Jr. IMO one of the best builders out there. They play themselves. Fret work is the best I have seen ever. And I have played almost every boutique brand you can imagine including all the lesser known builders like Zion, Baker, Warrior, Langcaster, Melancon, etc.. etc.. etc.. Had an Ibanez Jem and Jackson Soloist and Hamer Californian and Robin Medley etc.. etc.. etc... Have played about 20 Suhrs, about 10 Andersons and a couple Tylers etc.. etc.. etc...

My gas has ended cause this is as good as it gets.

What I like particularly about the Jekyll is that the horns are pointed. I was looking forever to find a guitar with this body style.

I received this guitar in the dead of winter, it was during a cold streak in Canada, about -36 or so without windchill. Anyway, I acclimatized the guitar in its case for a few hours then opened it up, and noticed that the finish had cracked. I called Eric who contacted BRJ. He payed for the guitar to get shipped back to Bernie, and Bernie stripped and re-finished the guitar.... Unreal!

I thought for sure I was going to get stuck with the damaged guitar, who's to say that I didnt open it up right away and it cracked from the warm house air heating the finish... Customer service was unreal, it was a pleasure dealing with Eric at Boogiestreet and Bernie. Both class acts, 100%
