Best 3 piece rock band in the world right now?

Best live band is probably Muse. Their combo of performance + lighting is hard to beat. Unfortunately their albums have been getting worse and worse. The newest one was supposed to be a return to their rock roots but it still sounds bad. The older albums had this new, exciting spacey/futuristic/dark sound to them that really set them apart. That darkness is gone.

As far as the music, I'm still really into Primus as a 3 piece.

I don't like Winery Dogs.

I'd love to see Muse live one day, but I've heard even their live shows lack compared to what they used to because they're relying on lots of backing tracks. Absolution was their peak for me. It's such an amazingly well written album. They've had some highlights here and there, but I also feel each album from that point on has progressively lost more and more of what I liked about them.

Haven't been here in awhile, but stumbled across this thread.. MUSE IS KILLER! But... .I'm not sure why in "PSYCHO" they use the Roadhouse Blues riff or if they're going to have to pay royalties! Meanwhile, I have tix to see the Winery Dogs in Boston in 3 weeks and am VERY psyched. . Eric

They're absolutely massive, live. They were never my favorite. Even so, best live show I've seen so far. By far.

I watch much of that Muse vid whenever it's on tv. I'll listen and the singer will bother me, I'll change it, but I'll keep going back because I dig the music. I'm just not a fan of the singer's style.
