beat up acoustic and a flannel shirt??

I thought I read that Jerry Cantrell used a 5150 on the "Tripod" album. I do remember seeing Kim Thayall in the ads for Peavey's VTM amps.

I think the Mark V will serve me well the other guy has a 6505 combo blah oh well I guess its better then a line6.
Yes beat up acoustic and a flannel shirt is funny but I think I am gonna buy a Slayer shirt just for the first show lol

Rectifier please. All day. Everyday.

I agree but I can't bring myself to sell my mark 5 and get a rectifier

You can get a used Single Rec Rectoverb head for under $500 :dunno:

And then keep the Mark.

Aren't you from the 90's?

And dang you got a lot of threads goin'

Back in the early 90's I was playing a Squire 15 amp with a RockTek distortion pedal. I thought I sounded just like the guys on the radio. ;)  But I was only 10. :D

Honestly though, hard to go wrong with a recto or a JCM 900. Maybe even a DSL 50/100. They are pretty versatile.

Ah. So you don't actually own a rev F recto, got it.

Not knowing how to set up a Bogner 101b will get you there.
Bogner fish AIC tone

And a couple other things to help you with that era of music.
Buy a rope
buy a gun
Never wash and wear baggy clothes
Get very depressed.
Never shave

Recto/Tremoverb, JCM-900, JCM800, Twin Reverb + Rat or DS-2 (kind of a classic Cobain sound).

CLASSIC! ah hahaha :D

Tremoverb will cover so much ground for that style of music. To be honest any Recto will but a Tremoverb would be my first choice. Vintage Hi Gain on the T-verb is heavenly.

The particular bands he mentioned do not need a recto sound at all. I would go with a more Marshall flavor.

Flannel shirts. Buy all clothing second hand at the good will.
