Best,amp for 90s music

I'm not to up to date on mavericks I'll check that out when i'm on a computer and i'm looking and i'm looking into the bogner ecstasy
 
For tones from the 90s you have a lot of Rectos in the post-1995 recordings, a lot of modded Marshalls in the early 1990s.

Keep in mind, Kurt Cobain used a Mesa Studio Preamp into various power amps, and with a single coil pickup, that studio with a ProCo Rat in front of it sounded very similar to his tone.

I think the Recto would be an obvious choice for some of the later '90s, and even Jerry Cantrell used one for recording, and then for gigging, he ran a Fish into a Mesa Simul-Class 2:90. I think a Mark IV would be your best bet (tons of bands used this thing during the 90s, just look online for Mark IV users) for an all-arounder, but I wouldn't keep it and a Mark V in the same stable. If I were you, I would look into a Bogner XTC (or even a Shiva) or a Mesa RoadKing, but these will be more costly options.

A good portion of Nevermind was also a bassman, and the other two records are mostly Twin Reverb with Boss distortions, IIRC. Then plenty of Vig/Albini magic on top.
