So I've always done song writing by just remembering in my head, but occassionally when I try to replay a song the next day, I don't play it exactly. I've had this Guitar Tracks Pro 4 recording software for a few years with a cheap M-Audio interface that can record well enough to do demos. The thing is, the Guitar Rig amp software that came free with it is sucky. When I'm playing fast, the notes are actually delayed a little bit, and it's ridiculous to set up a half stack and put a mic in front of it just for demo/writing/etc. What is a good device that will let me record direct that have a few different amp sounds and effects that is on the cheap? It doesn't have to sound like a million bux, but I'd like it to sound better than playing directly from a distortion pedal chained up with other stomp box effects.
Maybe I should be looking at something like the Randall RD5H instead?????? Heck I dunno......
