Best digital delay for old tape warble

Tape warble is a requirement for me.
I had a couple of Echoplex and I've had to have it ever since.

The Source Audio Nemesis is really good imo but there are so many I haven't tried (because I haven't been compelled to).

Yep, Strymon El Capistan would be the one to buy.

That has been at the top of my list of next to try.

I have an El Capistan and it does this in spades...

Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe.

This is what I use. If it's good enough for Eric Johnson, it's good enough for me.

I'm sure, the problem for me with the el cap was I didn't care for the subset of controls. I'm not about to memorize their function.

Thats why I always keep the cheat sheet near to the El Cap. :D
You think thats a lot of knob turning ,try the Strymon Timeline.I run that in stereo .

Try the Source Audio too. I liked the Nemesis enough that I bought 2.

Have a look at the fox gear echosexbaby. That Pedal show did an episode with it, after hearing it all my delays got thrown of my board for it.

The El Capistan won the shootout for me. The Belle Epoch was a distant second. The Strymon gets amazing tape tones, and every knob had s secondary function to dial things in even further. I like that you can dial up the gain on the repeats and dirty your delays. I tend to leave the warble down and go for the tape killer tone without ever having to worry about killing tape.

I've tried the El Cap twice, but wasn't impressed. No coloration, and way too sterile.
