Best Distortion Pedal with Fender Combo?

What are your favorite distortions to use with a Fender combo?

Suhr Riot Reloaded seems like a popular choice.

Bogner Blue? Wampler Plexi Deluxe??
 
Fat, big rock tone. Need be able to cop VH, Marshally tones.
 
I played a Wilson Effects Stoned Grasshopper through my Dr. Z EZG-50 which is a blackfaceish rig. That pedal is a cool one stop shop for OD, Fuzz and Clean Boost and can run them individually or stacked in whatever order you like.

Xotic BB Preamp

Probably prefer the BB through a Twin. With a humbucker and some volume. :rock:
 
I actually do have a BB Preamp. I'll see how that sounds.

I may need something a little more gainy. I always considered the BB Preamp more of an overdrive pedal. . .but then again, I don't think I've ever really cranked the gain on it either.

I also have a RK-5 Fly Rig, so that might be the solution.

Agreed about the gain. I generally don't like distortion pedals. They're ok in a room, but never work for me with a band.

The key to the BB is volume. I hit it with a Keeley TS9 for liquid sustain leads.
 
The MXR super badass has some marshally tones and you can boost that for leads, I use it in the rehearsal studio...but the bogner pedals are awesome.....
 
Keeley modded boss DS-1 if you are looking for more gain.

It creates really musical overtones with a clean amp.
 
Been checking out video demos, and I think the Plexitone is the winner.

The 2 channel Plexitone is an amazing pedal...VERY amp like. Highly recommended.

I had one. Didn't jive with it. Had this high mid clack thing.
Preferred the Bogner Red.
 
All pedals sound great through my FSR HRDLX
