I noticed that Winged C's are having issues?

What is everybody using now?

Need to re-tube a Marshall JVM

Thanks!

I like the Groove Tubes EL34S. Like the JJ e34l but I think better.,

SAh5150's been using a Ruby EL34 in his amps. I can never remember which one. I'm going to try that one next time. I've also heard good things about.

Not a fan of JJ, EH or the new mullard.

Are they the Ruby BSTR's possibly?

In 'pure' EL34 tube, I'd do the Ruby BSTR but I'd sooner go with a 6ca7 or a KT77 for fuller/rounder tone.

Another vote for tung sol. I put some in my Engl Invader before I sold it. They made the amp totally come alive, compared to the stock tubes.

If you get a good set, I really like JJ E34Ls. They've been in my Rev 2 Uberschall for over a year now with no issues (knock on wood).

I actually like the E34L JJ's too- in my wizard they sound good. I have found the Svetlana el34's sound great in my jcm 800 2203- might want to give them a try.

The SED's have definitely gone out for good I heard but there is still some decent tubes out there

In order
1) Ruby EL34B STR's
2) Tung Sol EL34 B
3) Svetlana (new sensor)
4) JJ E34L

Honorable mention are the Russian made "Mullards" for tone but they seem pretty unreliable

More of a 6L6 guy myself these days tho

Depends on what you are going for JJs will be the smoothest..Mullards are also smooth. Tungsol Ruby Sed will all have more grind or crunch in the mids..All of the brands mentioned sound good to me I tend to prefer the JJs because to my ears they lean a little towards the sound and feel of a 6L6....something like a mix of good qualities of both EL34s and 6L6. I have only tried the EL34 not the E34L
