I'm thinking either G major II or Eventide Pitchfactor. has to be midi, track well for harmonies. Anything else past that is a bonus. Using this with my Kemper. Should I go for the Eventide? Anyone try them both? Currently using a boss harmonist pedal in the fx loop and it works great, just have to manually switch the key and it's a bitch on a dark stage.

Besides the two you mentioned:

Rocktron Intellipitch
DigiTech IPS 33B or DHP-33 (same thing)

Used to have the IPS 33B. I now have the G-Major II, and it suits my needs. If I just wanted harmonization, I'd probably look into the Pitchfactor.

If you're willing to go slightly over that, you can snipe an Eventide H3000 on eBay. I've gotten one as low as $450 before doing that but it's rare.

You know where I'll go with this....

Eventide PF all the way. Great bit of kit for the price and always upgradeable with its firmware. Nice, intelligent, 2 channel, stereo outs. Awesome.

I know you said MIDI, but everyone is mentioning the pitchfactor. Id go electroharmonix hog over the EH-PF.

Seriously try the Digitech Harmonyman, tracks your clean guitar signal and then processes pitch effects after distortion. I love the Pitchfactor and Harmonyman but the harmonyman tracks quite a bit better.

I really like my GMajor II. Harmonies sound great.

How is the new boss harmonist?? I see it's an intelligent shifter now. Haven't tried one yet, but I was not impressed with the old one.

Major II or GSP1101, Pete. The Major can do two add. notes, the GSP 1. Both work more than ok.

The
PS-6( harmonist ) is a great pedal and definite improvement over the PS-5...

Pete, I like the GSP1101 alot as well. Low cost, sounds great, midi and can do a whole lot of stuff really well

I would like to hear some clips of someone using the Pitchfactor or something using a 3rd harmony ala Maiden/Thin Lizzy. Every demo I see has all the crazy presets but nothing most people would actually use it for.

Boss harmonist is excellent
Gsp1101 is best fx rack on market for realistic usable sound like original pedals. 4 cable method zero tone suck !!!!!!!
Tc gmajor2 is very good as well. More complex than gsp1101 but not ridiculous. Does not sound as organic as Gsp or boss harmonist.

My 2 cents

Yeah, I have the boss harmonist and a PS5 - both work ok, I just need midi presets. Ever try to change the key on a harmonist pedal on a dark stage? I got it off by one and treated the crowd to mixofridgiolic ass-minor one night. Never again. You should have seen the look on the singer's face though, it was like I pooped on his birthday cake :)

So far I'm thinking GSP1101 or Gmaj2 or yes, still stuck on the eventide. I need to mess with one in person though. Hell, may take my kemper into the GC, I did that when I bought my K8.

Pete

pod hd bean ( small, has IPS and could be a backup in a pinch) or pod hd ( could also act as a midi controller/backup for the kemper)

I've had an Eventide H3000 and I have the Axe-FX, but I'm bidding on an Eventide Pitchfactor that I should win. I'll let you know how it compares to the H3000 when I get it...

Cool beans!

I have a newer Boss ps-6. It's a pretty decent stomper for those that don't need midi, and/or have $500. It doesn't sound bad, either.
