Hi guys new to the forum. I have tried almost every amp modeler out there at this point except the kemper. I currently have the headrush pedal board and am very happy with it! what is your favorite modeler and why?

I have the Kemper power rack and it is great. I have never cared for digital amp platforms, but I have to say, the Kemper is the best I have come across. The trick is finding good profiles. A lot of the big name profiles I tried were pretty bad, but the good profiles are great. The best I have used are the Michael Britt. I have also played some great Sinmix profiles also. There are still quite a few I have yet to try, but I am looking forward to checking them out.

Love the Fractal stuff, had an Ultra for several years and have had the AxeFx2 since it came out. Has everything I need, sounds great, no need for me to look elsewhere. Before the Ultra I went through all the Line 6 stuff through the years.

I have an Axe II that's great, and I've tried the ISP ThetaPro which is awesome too

You owe it to yourself to at least try a Kemper.... :)
This.

To me it's Fractal and Kemper at equal peggings dependent on what you want from your system.
Line6/Helix is moving in quickly, but still has some time before it gets there.
Zoom and BOSS are not too far behind, but still a ways when looking at Fractal and Kemper.

Amplifire 12

It fit my budget better at the time and I’m unlikely to make full use of a Fractal or Helix.

I was on the Line 6 bandwagon until a friend of mine made me a killer deal on an Axe FX II. Ive always wanted one, even though it feels like my knowledge of the guitar and playing limitations don't do it justice. It does just about everything i ask of it. Some days i have a love/hate relationship with it. Currently running it thru a pair of Presonus Eris 5 monitors for home use. Ive never played on a Kemper or Helix. Im just happy with what i have. I just made about a dozen IRs of my Splawn Big Block/Small Block loaded cab. Of course they really shine with the Splawn models.

I feel like we are on the cusp of something really killer to come out either 2018 or 2019.

I always wanted a Kemper... I just wonder if I would have been satisfied with it's tones for direct recording or would I have eventually ended up with tube amps + loadbox + IRs regardless? Maybe one day...

if you like tubes ,the Synergy stuff is promising .Kind of a real tube modelling option

Then there's also the option of real tube amps :student:

Yeah...this is what keeps me from buying an Axe fx IIXL+. I’m afraid the second I get it they will come out with something better and I’m fucked with an older unit. lol

I’m playing more gigs where my loud tube amps won’t work and my bassist is going direct.

I don’t use a ton of FX and just need some good tube like rock/hard rock/metal tones that sounds great through direct into a PA. Most of these super expansive floor units are more than I need. I still like using my pedal board with my tuner, wah, and delay pedal.

What could I use that is direct to PA and sounds awesome for simple hard rock tones? I don’t really play clean either; I just roll Down the volume on my guitar for dirty clean. Also, I guess I would need a cab simulator or something?

The Headrush looks pretty simple with the UI. I just need something simple, but awesomely effective. The idea of programming things too much turns me off. I use the following:

Guitar
Tuner
Wah
Spark Drive
HoF reverb (barley, never really on)
Delay (same as above)
Amp

Also, I have on board solo boosts which is essential for me in a two guitar band.

Thoughts on the best route? I’m thinking an Atomic Amplifire.

Truth!

This is why the Amplifire is a low cost/high reward option.

Happens to me as well.

I would love a Kemper Power Rack but I find it too expensive bearing in mind that in a short space of time more digital stuff with a similar quality and cheaper is coming.

When it costs something like 1200/1000 euros instead of 2000, I would probably buy it without regrets.

Annual November sale, so in itself no indication that any new hardware is on the horizon. Also, the Q9 firmware just got released.
