Best multi-effect for effects loop?

I'm considering a bug change in my effects setup, simply for ease and portability. I'm thinking about using an effects unit in the effects loop for all the post effects that I use (reverb, delay, volume boost, chorus, etc). I'd like the ability to choose a patch and have the ability go turn each effect on and off in the patch. Some units I'm looking at are Digitech RP360, Boss GT-1, Zoom G3N, Line 6 M9. I'd like to hear your opinions on each one.

Fractal FX8 man, that thing sounds out of this wolrd.

I love mine, that and my TC G System, both very good units but sound quality goes to Fractal.

I probably should've said my budget is $300 or less.

I'm currently using a Zoom G9.2tt floor processor with 4 cable method into either a Marshall 6101 1x12 combo amp or a Krank Nineteen80 Jr. 20 watt amp head/ Marshall 1912 1x12 closed back cab. I use a pair of Fractal Audio humbuster cables and it eliminates the ground loop issues. I use the Zoom with effects before the amp's input & in the amp's effects loop and use the MIDI out to switch amp channels. I also use a Voodoo Lab Control Switcher to switch the Krank Nineteen80 Jr. amp channels via MIDI since the Zoom G9.2tt doesn't have a relay control switcher.

I am having great tone and results with my Digitech RP1000. I have a lot of modeling gear and I think that the modeling is pretty dam good even though I use it mostly for the effects. It makes a great back up if you amp or what ever you are using fails you on a gig. The connection and switching functions are really useful, it's got everything I need except midi in it. There have been some saying they have problems with the wah switch being too sensitive to triggering it on, but there is a procedure in the manual that gives you an adjustment that corrects that problem. Good Luck!

Boss ms-3 works great for me.

For JUST the FX loop? The way the MS3 is setup, it won't work in 4CM setup. In front of a clean amp it probably works great.

I used a TC Nova System in the loop for years. Great delays and reverb!!!

This. Best bang for the buck that can do 4CM. Line 6 m9/m13 is not bad either, but the Digitech interface was better IMO and has a built in expression pedal.

with a budget of $300 i says the Source audio one series.

you'll need to do some reading to wrap your head around it but the modulation pedals: gemini mercury and lunar are ALL the same pedal with different programs loaded up out of box.

any of them when connected to a smartphone can be programmed to any modulation effect that the series offers.

it does MUCH more as well.
fx loop
noise gate
four band eq
low pass filters
external footswitches
expression

it can accept midi with a hub.

greatest value on the market, AND it actually sounds pretty good.

one of them may be enough for your needs at $149. if not add midi, external footswitch whatever.

MS-3 works great in 4cm

Currently looking for something to work inf 4cm that's easy for me. Can you assign overdrive, chorus in front, and reverb, delay etc... in the loop?

Recently picked up my 3rd Nova System and for $200ish now used it just fine...

Yes
It has a software interface that makes it easy

It's not on the level of my fx8, but it sounds damn good and I love the small package it comes in. I power it up with a wireless Volto and put it on a nano board for a streamlined fx board. I still like to use my own OD, but the onboard stuff sounds decent enough. It has a few loops you can use to trigger a few of your favorite pedeals, but note one of them loops has to be dedicated for 4CM. Phaser, flangers, delays, chorus and all that I let the ms3 handle it.

Wait for MLK day or other holiday and you can likely get 15% off at M Friend then have zzounds price match + and get it split into 6 payments of like $50 each.

In this pic below I have it on a Nano+ board with a tuner, OD and a Tap Tempo. I think I'm going to ditch the Tap and just use one of the onboard switches.
You can get it to have spillover if you use commands within the preset to turn pedals on/off. Wjhen you switch presets, no spillover.

Tell me about these switch covers ? That is what I need >>>
:)

This board has the regular ones, but on my fx8 I have some TALL buttons that work really well for the top row
I was bummed that on a lot of pedals (like 88x, MXR Phaser) it covers the indicator light...and on the Korg Tuner above I tok it off as the pedal has this slant that sort of blocks off the switch when a Barefoot button is on it....but on my Kat fc or ms3 or fx8 it is wonderful!

Excellent ! Thank you very much!

Yep, just got an MS-3 myself so’ll report back but plenty enough options for me.
I had an FX8 but I’d need some college courses for operation, so off it went
